The A2 + CB2 synthetic method was used where neopentyl glycol was A2 and 2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl) propionic acid was CB2. The acid value and hydroxyl values of the synthesized hyperbranched polymer were determined according to ASTM D974 and ASTM D4274, respectively. The molecular structural characterizations of hyperbranched polyol were determined by FTIR and NMR spectroscopy techniques. The hyperbranched polyurethanes were synthesized by using hyperbranched polyol and crosslinking agent isophorone diisocyanate in different mole ratios of OH:NCO (1:1.2, 1:1.4, 1:1.6). These mixtures were used as coating materials on mild steel panels and glass plates. The coating properties of polyurethanes such as gloss and cross-cut adhesion were studied. The immersion test of coatings was carried out in HCl, NaCl, NaOH and water. The electrochemical properties of the coatings were examined using an electrochemical method in electrolytes consisting of HCl, NaOH, and NaCl. Thermal stability and surface morphology were studied by TGA and SEM, respectively. Howevei chemicals have the potential to cause considerable health and environmental problems from production through to disposal. Owing to their toxicity some ofthe chemicals used in the polymer and paint industry (fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers, colorants and pigments) have been banned So it is important to first understand their toxicity (their effects on humans and/or environment) and then replace these chemicals with elther non-toxic or less toxic chemicals. The reactive diluent was characterized by FTIR and 1H NMR techniques. This reactive diluent was incorporated in a urethane acrylate oligomer and photoinitiator at different weight fractions varying from 5 to 25 wt% for UV curing. The effects of reactive diluent concentrations on the viscosity of the formulations along with mechanical, chemical, and optical properties of UV-curable coatings were studied. Furthermore, the cured films were evaluated for glass transition temperature (T g) determined by differential scanning calorimetry and thermal stability by thermogravimetric analysis. Gel content and water absorption of UV-cured films were evaluated. Polymérisation radicalaire controléeTags : 'Polymérisation réversible de transfert chaîne fragmentation d'addition' RAFT radicalaire par d'atomes inverse' RATRP 'Nitroxide Mediated Polymerization' NMP Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Controlled/living radical polymerization (CRP), namely RAFT/MADIX, NMP, ATRP, and reverse ATRP, are among the most rapidly developing areas of chemistry and polymer science. However such extraordinary scientific development of CRP contrasts with the very limited number of commercially available products derived from these technologies. The present review tries to connect the basics of CRP as a tool to develop commercial products and also its commercial status. The overview of patent literature, conference proceedings, research papers and technical data sheets of commercial products. The advantages and disadvantages are given for the different CRP techniques, the CRP processes face many of hurdles (depending on the type of CRP), that must be overcome and reduce the time to market for polymer products compared to mature existing technologies. In spite of its slow development, CRP is seen as a revolutionary method to produce precisely controlled, next generation specialty polymer additives and materials. Effect of pigment concentrations and dispersing agents on various color properties of the molded specimens, such as reflectance versus wavelength characteristics, angular dependency, K/S data, and flop index were evaluated using the CIE system with goniospectrophotometer. Surface image analysis was also conducted. Based on the above parameters, design equations were developed. The study revealed that the effective concentration of the interference pigment was 0.5% and better color characteristics were found when poly (ethylene glycol) was used as a dispersing agent.
