Cependant, les scientifiques et les instances de contrôle sanitaire restent sceptiques quant à leur caractère naturel, leur efficacité et leur innocuité. However, the durability problems associated with joints of this type are well known, i.e., premature deterioration of protective coatings (metallic, organic) and accelerated metallic corrosion of the base steel by moisture retention in the joint, crevice corrosion, etc. The authors have been involved in researching lap-joint corrosion testing to know the behaviour of materials in these joints. The precoated steel sheet materials studied were divided into two groups according to their use in two well-defined industrial sectors: building (55% Al-Zn and hot-dip galvanised, painted and unpainted) and car manufacturing (electrogalvanised and galvanneal) Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5572

In the field of cosmetics and dermatologicals the natural pH of the skin surface plays an important role in the development of products with a skin neutral pH. In a multicenter study the natural pH of the skin surface (exception of underarm and genital areas), was to be measured. It was to be determined whether gender-specific differences in the pH occur. The skin surface pH was measured on the inside of the forearms in 222 volunteers (147 female, 75 male) using the skin pH meters of the respective institutes. The pH was measured in triplicate on adjacent areas 24 h after the last contact of the measuring site with water, topical applications and an intensive washing procedure. The values of the skin surface pH were 4.9 (arithmetic mean). The 95% interval was between 4.1 and 5.8. The pH on the forearm of the male volunteers was slightly lower than that of the females. The difference was statistically significant (p < 0.01; 4.8 to 5.0). The authors suggest that the GDCh recommendations for the claims »skin neutral pH«, »ideal pH« or »skin-friendly pH« should be revised and propose a pH range of 4.1 to 5.8 for the main body areas excluding the underarm and genital areas. The New Zealand site had a climatic index 50% more challenging. Significant differences in performance relating to coating, species, site, and exposure are presented. The coating and site had the most significant effects, while species had the least. A solvent-borne stain and a hybrid paint qualified for stable end-use situations in both countries. An acrylic paint performed better in Germany while an alkyd gave the poorest performance of the four coatings tested. More effective fungicidal coating properties are required in New Zealand to suppress mold growth. Areas of deficiency for internationalizing the European weathering standard EN 927 are discussed. Previously, we showed that QUV-B weight loss rates can be used as an early predictor of the weatherability of fluoropolymer/acrylic biend clearcoats. In this work, we study the microscopic basis for differences seen between various blends and pure acrylic coatings. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images reveal different characteristic patterns of degradation. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5682
