(Wikipedia)

PeptidesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Hyaluronic acid (HA) or hyaluronan is a compound found in skin which is crucial to the smooth and full appearance of the face. It is frequently used as a filler injection in the cosmetic surgery industry. Since 2006, DSM Nutritional Products Ltd. (DSM) has known that its proprietary peptide molecule SYN®HYCAN (INCI: Tetradecyl aminobutyroylvalylaminobutyric Urea Trifluoroacetate) was effective in significantly upregulating hyaluronic acid expression within the skin itself. The aim of the research presented here was to make its demonstrated efficacy tangible and visible with novel technologies.
The data shows just how much this peptide boosts HA synthesis in dermal and epidermal cells in vitro and ex vivo. Moreover, thanks to cutting-edge 3D visualization technology and a novel, non-contact compression device, we can see how this compound significantly improves skin volume and restores firmness across multiple facial areas in vivo. Human ileedback has also delivered useful results. Over 87 % of panelists reported that their skin felt supple and smooth and nearly 70 % confirmed that their skin had more elasticity.
DSM's peptide solution can therefore be used as an effective cosmetic alternative to dermal fillers or to enhance the effects of HA injections in between treatments.Note de contenu : - The rise and rise of hyaluronic acid

(Wikipedia)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : - Objective : Skin extracellular matrix (ECM) is a dense and well-organized structure produced by fibroblasts. This ECM transduces environmental mechano-signals to cell nucleus through the integrin–actin complex, thus triggering ECM protein syntheses. The aim of this study was to discover a novel peptide, structurally related to dermal matrikines, that promotes syntheses of ECM components.
- Methods and results : Screening tests with 120 peptides were carried out by using normal dermal human fibroblasts (HF). As a result, one candidate of interest was isolated, the N-Prolyl Palmitoyl Tripeptide-56 Acetate (PP56), which increases collagen and fibronectin productions at gene and/or protein levels. Using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), a recent and innovative analytical technology, in addition to more traditional techniques, it was showed that two metabolic pathways were significantly modulated: one for collagen production and one for actin. Moreover, this peptide up-regulated the transcription of Forkhead Box O (FOXO) and sestrin messenger RNAs (mRNA), leading to production of proteins involved into longevity and more recently in collagen production.
- Results : Results indicated that this peptide is a potential candidate to improve ECM density and organization in a new way.DOI : 10.1111/ics.12584 Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=33679

Tannage Résumé : A new pretanning agent (HTPA) for high exhaustion chrome tannage 2,4-di-(1-hydroxymethyl-1, 2, 4-triazole-5-thione)-1,5-phthalic acid and 2,5-di-(1-hydroxymethyl-1, 2, 4-triazole-5-thione) -1,4-phthalic acid, has been synthesized from pyromellitic dianhydride and thiosemicarbazide. Its reaction with pelts and its effect on chrome uptake have been studied by applying it to delimed sheepskins and goatskins. The results show that HTPA reacts mainly with the amino groups in collagen to form crosslinks and that the reaction depends on the pH, temperature, time and amount of HTPA. Pelt pretanned with HTPA possesses a higher shrinkage temperature than control pelts. Subsequent chrome tanning results in a significant increase in chromium uptake, thus the chrome offer in conventional chrome tanning can be reduced significantly. The handle and the physical properties of pretanned crust leather are not too different from those of control crust leather.
- Description :
Spectroscopie RamanIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In the present investigation, a polyacrylamide (PAM) – graphene oxide (GO)-single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) composite has been prepared through a cost effective solution cast method and physical properties (electrical and mechanical) measurements have been carried out. The GO sheets contain oxygen functional groups which enhance the interfacial adhesion with the polymer matrix, while the SWNTs act as wires joining the GO together in the composite matrix. This interconnected network creates a conducting path, lowering film resistance and improving PAM films’ electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties. Raman study demonstrated that carbon nanofiller (SWNTs, GO) and polymer PAM have good interfacial bonding. The electrical conductivity and mechanical characteristics (hardness and elastic modulus) of these composite films were enhanced at a loading of 15 wt% GO and 15 wt% SWNTs in PAM matrix. Electrical conductivity of GO (15 wt%) – SWNTs (15 wt%)-PAM composite film was found to be 2.8 × 10−2 S/cm, which is five orders of magnitude higher than that of the PAM polymer. In comparison to pure PAM polymer, the elastic modulus and hardness are found to be 1.14 and 65 times higher, respectively.
