On distingue trois types.

Stabilité hydrothermaleIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : An alternative to the normal dyeing route to achieving colour in leather is to exploit the chemistry of creating the natural skin and hair pigments, melanins. 1,8-dihydroxynaphthalene and other dihydroxynaphthalenes can be oxidised and polymerised to create pigment products by reactions catalysed by laccase, a polyphenol oxidase.
They not only create colour, but, if the reactions are conducted in the presence of collagen, the pigments are bound to the collagen by covalent bonds, which confer a tanning effect.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES : Materials - Dyeing experiments - Measurements of colour - Measurement of hydrothermal stability

The photoluminescence properties were studied. All three dyads exhibited intense solid-state blue emission peaking at 449–466 nm, and also displayed aggregation-induced emission behaviours. The emission decays of these dyads in the solid state also fitted well with a triexponential model with an average lifetime of 2.65–4.42 ns. The experimental results demonstrated that the luminescent properties are highly dependent on the nature of the organophosphorus groups. The choice of phosphorus-containing components can cause variations in the photoluminescence emission and photoluminescence decays. Pigments nacrésIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A novel low-temperature method is described for the direct synthesis of Fe2O3/mica pearlescent pigments with ferric chloride as a precursor and trace Fe(II) as a catalyst which does not require any calcination step. The as-synthesized pigments are characterized in detail by means of different techniques including X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and colorimetry. The influence of various factors on the transformation from Fe(OH)3 coating layer to crystalline hematite coating layer is investigated, respectively. Furthermore, this paper studies several critical technological parameters pertaining to the influences on morphology and color properties of the pigments such as the coating temperature and the pH value. Pigments -- Analyse
Pigments -- SynthèseIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : Derivatives and modified products of five natural iridoids (geniposide, gentiopicroside, swertiamarin, loganin and morroniside) were obtained by derivatization or modification. Compounds before and after derivatization or modification were adopted to react with methylamine to investigate their color-forming property. The relationship between the color of the pigments and the structure was analyzed using ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. The results indicated that: (1) when the backbone of the iridoids was the same, the position of the modified substituent groups had the greatest effect on the color of the pigments formed. For example, methygentiopicroside aglycone and methylswertimarin aglycone have a similar skeleton structure, differing only at positions C-5 and C-6, and the pigments obtained from their reaction with methylamine were also similar i.e. bright yellow. However, geniposidic acid aglycone and genipin, which also have a similar skeleton structure, differing only in the substituent at position C-4, produce pigments of different color upon reaction with methylamine, one being dark blue and the other purple red. (2) In different buffer systems, i.e., phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH=8.0) and acetate buffer (ACE, pH=5.0), the same iridoid formed pigments with different colors. (3) After the ?-? conjugation of benzoyl was introduced to the skeleton of loganin, genipin and morronin as a substituent group, the characteristic absorption wavelength of pigments changed. Taking loganin as an example, the characteristic absorption wavelength of pigments changed from 430 nm and 650, to 465 nm and 670 nm when reacted in PBS, and from 560 nm to 610 nm when reacted in ACE. The reason might be that the conjugation system became longer and the molecular structure became more stable.
