(Wikipedia)
Pigments végétauxIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Natural colourants have great effects on the colour of vegetable oil. A series of colourant–oil simulation systems were constructed to study the effects of chlorophyll, lutein and β-carotene and their interactions on the colour of rapeseed oil. CIE L*a*b* and Lovibond RYBN colour codes were used to evaluate the colour of the simulation systems. There were good negative linear correlations between the concentrations of the three natural colourants and L* value in both single colourant–oil and two colourants–oil simulation systems. Chlorophyll had greater effect on lightness of rapeseed oil than lutein and β-carotene. The contribution of the two carotenoids to the yellow colour was greater than that of chlorophyll. Lutein and β-carotene contributed positively to the red colour of rapeseed oil. They had superposition effect on colour of rapeseed oil, and β-carotene might contribute more to the colour than lutein. It provided a method to evaluate the contribution of colourant to the colour and a possibility to regulate oil colour in edible oil industry. The two coatings, natural indigo-pigmented boat varnish and outdoor paint, were exposed to cycles of ultraviolet light, water condensation and water spray for 40 days in a QUV test chamber. Synthetic indigo and commercial ultramarine pigment were employed as reference materials. The effects of artificial weathering on the coatings were evaluated with CIELab parameters, as well as visual inspection. Coating and pigment stability during artificial weathering were studied with reflectance spectrometry, hyperspectral imaging technology and Fourier Transform–infrared spectroscopy. According to the results, coatings with indigo proved to be more resistant to visual and spectral changes than unpigmented or commercially pigmented coatings. Extraction (chimie)

RevêtementsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This paper represents the use of the natural resin either by themselves or as a constitutes of the coating materials for decorative & protective purposes. Natural resins are insoluble in water, more or less soluble in the organic substances and vegetable oils. The turmeric extract modified with the oleic acid is used in the preparation of the paint. These paint systems have very good adhesion, flexibility, and good color retentions. Oleic acid modified turmeric extract shows improvements in overall properties like drying time, scratch hardness, adhesion, water, sea water, and acid alkali resistance. The (turmeric resin modified with oleic acid) paint system also shows overall better properties like drying time, flexibility, scratch hardness, adhesion, water, sea water & acid alkali resistance.

Tests de toxicitéIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Flavonoid constituents from the aqueous extract of the leaves of Eupatorium odoratum, an invasive weed in Thailand, have potential use as dyestuffs for cotton dyeing. It was found that cotton yarn, which was pretreated with a chitosan solution (with and without a crosslinking glyoxal solution), followed by dyeing with E. odoratum extract in the presence of the inorganic mordant, alum, provided better depth of shade (K/S) and also gave better fastness to light and washing than the untreated cotton yarn. Pretreated cotton yarn with the biomordant solution from Memecylon scutellatum leaves gave relatively poor light and wash fastness of the resultant dyed cotton in the presence of alum. From the toxicity studies, the aqueous extract of the leaves of E. odoratum before and after dyeing showed a high toxicity level to the earthworm (Diplocardia communis) and the guppy fish (Poecilia reticulate). Therefore, it is strongly suggested that E. odoratum aqueous extract after dyeing should be significantly diluted before discharged into the environment. Note de contenu : EXPERIMENTAL : Materials and chemicals - Cotton pretreatment with chitosan solution - Cotton pretreatment with an aqueous leaf extract of M. scutellatum - Aqueous extract of the leaves of E. odoratum and stock solution preparation for toxicity testing - Attenuated total reflectance (ATR) Fourier Transform-infrared analysis (FTIR) - Colour measurement and fastness testing - Toxicity study.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION : Effect of dyeing temperature - ATF-FTIR spectroscopy investigation of a possible mechanism for glyoxal crosslinking to chitosan fibre - Colour hue and fastness properties of dyed cotton with aqueous leaf extract of E. odoratum - Aquatic animal toxicity - Terrestrial animal toxicity.DOI : 10.1111/j.1478-4408.2011.00321.x En ligne : http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1478-4408.2011.00321.x/pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=12187
