Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Standards and reagents - Plant material - Extraction of fragrance compounds using supercritical fluid extraction with carbon dioxide - Incorporation of fragrance compounds into cosmetic matrices - Dynamic headspace analysis - Chemical analysis - Odour profile of the fragrance mixtures

Teinture -- Fibres textiles synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Polyester fabric (filament by filament) was pretreated in a microwave oven in the presence of solvents and subsequently dyed with commercial disperse dyes [Dispersol Red C-B (CI Disperse Red 91) and Dispersol Blue B-G (CI Disperse Blue 26)] at different temperatures and for different durations of time. It was observed that the solvent interaction with the polyester could be enhanced by using microwave heating. Solvent molecules interact rapidly, not only with the surface of the fibre but also with the interior parts. Scanning electron microscope results showed that structural modifications take place, which produce surface roughness and voids. This enhances the dye uptake by threefold in comparison to conventional methods. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Materials, chemicals and dyes - Methods

Several morphological forms, such as interpenetrating network (IPN), bi-lobal, and core-shell are obtained by spinning homogeneous solutions of two immiscible polymers in two mutually miscible solvents. The diameter selection of fibers of the same morphology, e. g., bi-lobal, is achieved by spinning polymer solutions of two sets of solvents of different volatility. The results show that fiber diameter is strongly dependent on the value of vapor pressure of the solvents while the morphology is strongly dependent on the vapor pressure difference of the two respective solvents. The diameter selection by GJF process is most prominent for IPN nanofibers, moderately prominent for core-shell fibers, and almost indifferent for bi-lobal nanofibers. The relative rates of solvent evaporation are useful in interpreting the experimental trend. It was shown how the rheology, surface tension, viscosity, and particle size of suspensions were affected by the length of polyol solvent and dispersants. The effect of ethylene glycols, diethylene glycol (DEG), triethylene glycol, and tetraethylene glycol as solvents, as well as polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as dispersants on the ink properties was investigated. The X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), electron microscopy (FESEM/TEM) and dynamic light scattering analyses were performed to characterize the features of nanopigments. Crystalline V–ZrSiO4 nanopigment was obtained at 1100°C by DEG solvent in the presence of PVP. The sizes of the resulting nanoparticles were in the range of 10–50 nm. The achieved suspensions were tested as ceramic inks on a tile, and the colorimetric CIELAB parameters were measured. The CIE L*a*b* values confirmed the blue color. The surface tension and viscosity of prepared ceramic ink, as well as microstructure of the annealed nanopigments, were in the range required for drop-on-demand inkjet printers. ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : With the increasing concern about the depletion of fossil reserves and greenhouse gas emissions, it is desired to replace coatings which are made using petrochemical-based materials with renewable alternatives such as bio-based polymers. In this paper, fully bio-based thermosets for coatings were prepared from epoxidized sucrose soyate derived from sucrose and soybean oil fatty acid along with citric and malic acids found naturally in juices with the assistance of different solvents. The solvents with reasonable boiling point and good miscibility with citric acid and malic acid, such as water, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, and 1,4-dioxane, were screened and used to investigate their effects on the curing and properties of the fully bio-based thermosets. The curing reactivity was studied by examining the gel time and nonisothermal curing process with DSC. The thermal and mechanical properties as well as coating performance properties were also investigated.
