Tricot circulaireIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : In order to satisfy growing demand for fine-denier elastane fibers, a recent innovation implements a cross-section including at least 2 distinct regions with specific functional attributes. Lycra T222S fiber offers splittable (separable) spandex multifilament yarns wherein surface modification of the fiber prevents coalescence or adhesion of the individual filaments during manufacture, storage, and processing. The separable multifilament yarns result in a multi-end yarn package of monofilament yarns which are useful for lightweight knit fabrics with improved economics. Lycra T222S fiber provides a low-friction spandex elastomeric yarn suitable for knitting, beaming, and covering applications. A key aspect of the bicomponent fiber is a novel surface structure which reduces fiber friction, decreases tackiness, and sustains robust separation of a multifilament yarn under a variety of textile processing.
