Soto, Auteur Année de publication : 2008 Article en page(s) : p. 178-181 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Surfactants Tags : oleic methyl ester sulfonate Résumé : Sulfonation with SO3 of an oleic methyl ester has led to a mixture of sulfonates with potential properties as a surfactant, an emulsifier or even a wetting agent that can be used in detergent formulations. For the first time, the products from the sulfonation reaction with SO3 are identified. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=2941

Pratesi, Auteur Année de publication : 2010 Article en page(s) : p. 18-23 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Surfactant Sulfoxidation Φ-sulfo fatty methyl ester sulfonate Index. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Phi-Sulfo Fatty Methyl Esters sulfonates (phi-MES) were obtained via sulfoxidation of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) with SO2, O2, and ultraviolet light of appropriate wavelength. Expectedly, these products may be used as linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) and alkyl ether sulfate (AES) partners, either in heavy-duty or in hand dishwashing liquids. Phi-MES are new anionic surfactants that can be regarded as potential components for detergent formulations and body care products as well. In this work we summarize the most relevant results of our research started fifteen years ago, on the synthesis, separation and analysis of phi-sulfo fatty methyl ester sulfonates known as phi-MES, and we update our last findings. We have to point out that we are for the time being, the only research group in the world to have published our research on phi-MES. This paper describes the optimum batch conditions for the sulfoxidation of FAME and a reaction mechanism is proposed. The paper depicts an improved workup for the separation of reaction products from non reacted methyl ester and the GC-MS analysis of phi-sulfo fatty methyl ester sulfonate is shown. Finally, an interpretation of conversion and selectivity of sulfoxydation reaction is given. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8065

Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Fatty acid methyl esters FAMEE Oxyetylenation Hydrolysis Index. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Oxyethylenated fatty acid methyl esters are considered to be a promising alternative to oxyethylenated fatty alcohols widely used in laundry detergent productions. Oxyethylenated fatty acid methyl esters display propensity to hydrolysis in alkaline washing solutions, which might affect the washing process. The hydrolysis of oxyethylenated fatty acid methyl esters was found to be innocuous towards the washing process since only 10% of the overall amount was hydrolyzed at 60°C, pH = 12 in 1 hour. The cmc depends on a degree of oxyethylenation. The cmc of methyl ester and ethyl ester bearing 10 oxyethylene groups is 0.8 mmol · L–1. The cmc of esters bearing 20 oxyethylene groups is 1.2 mmol · L–1. The foaming properties of oxyethylenated methyl esters bearing between 10 and 20 oxyethylene groups is constant. In case of oxyethylenated ethyl esters the foaming was increasing with the number of oxyethylene groups. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3037

With its balanced profile of properties and an advantageous cost-benefit ratio, standard ABS has profited from strong demand in recent years. Styrene copolymer specialties also show high growth rates, though starting from a lower base. While standard ABS is now characterized by its versatility, new product developments are increasingly concentrating on styrene copolymer specialties and their application fields.
