The core consisted of methyl methacrylate (MMA), butyl acrylate (BA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), and the shell MMA, BA, and methacrylic acid (MAA). A strong acid acrylate was incorporated into the shell to catalyze the crosslinking reactions. The diepoxide crosslinker was introduced into the latex formulation via three methods: (1) added with the monomers during the polymerization of the latex, (2) added after the preparation of the latex in an organic solvent, and (3) added as a separate emulsion. The stability of epoxide was shown to be dependent on latex morphology, initiator system, and reaction conditions. Whatever range of colours is provided in the OEM ( original equipment material )coatings also has to ba available in the field of automotive repair - often in a variety of different binder systems, depending on the country. These include alkyd melamine, NC combinations, 2-component paints based on hydroxyl terminated acrylics are undoubtedly on the advance wolrdwide due to the advantages they offer during technical applications. However, there are also binders whose wetting properties are unsatisfactory especially when used in the dispersion of finely-divided carbon blacks. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 'Matériau revêtement' Lasure Adjuvant 'Absorbant UV' 'Titane Oxyde' 'Particule ultrafine' TiO2 Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This article demonstrates that for the nano-TiO2 particles the authors have developed, stains can be loaded up to about 5% without significantly altering the transparency. This level is also sufficient to attain a good UV filter effect. For both alkyd and acrylic stains, at a level of 5% nano-TiO2 wood grays more slowly than with a UV absorber, and the products can be expected to last much longer. To describe resin degradation caused by the direct photochemical activity of the resin and by TiO2-induced photocatalysis, the authors have developed a simple model which is given in the appendix.
Once the various constants of the mathematical model had been determined, the model was tested to see how well it would predict the impact of the nano-TiO2 level, the photocatalytic activity of the nano-TiO2 and the properties of the resin.Note de contenu : - Description of experimental techniques : Stain formulations - Preparation of fee film stains and coating of wood panels - Photocatalytic activity of nano-TiO2 - Spectrophotometric characterization - Ageing experiments - Measurement of film photo-oxidation rate

Grâce à la structure spécifique des particules de la dispersion polymère obtenues par la réaction en deux étapes de polymerisation en émulsion, on saurait éviter l'agglomération pendant la période de stockage. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 'Interaction particule' 'Particule en suspension' Encre Stabilisation 'Dispersion aqueuse' Pigment 'Peinture eau' 'Matériau revêtement' Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Concentrated pigment dispersions are commonly used as precursors in the manufacture of aqueous inks and paints. These pigment dispersions are prepared by the reduction of the particle size of the pigment through mechanical grinding followed by the stabilisation of the pigment particle in the aqueous media. This stabilisation is frequently accomplished using low molecular weight acrylic resins. The actual performance of the resulting pigment dispersions, as described by the intensity of the colour development, stability and compatibility, is a strong function of the chemical composition and structure of the acrylic resin stabiliser. This paper describes how the performance of these dispersions can be explained in terms of the chemistry of the resin-stabilised pigment dispersions. Particle-particle interactions described by DL VO theory and the physical chemistry characterisation of the stabilised dispersions will provide insight into the workings of these chemical systems.
