The study was carried out analyzing the ability of micro-organisms to grow utilizing the varnishes as substrate. Microbial growths were effective with all tested varnishes and they demonstrated a different trend depending on the type of varnish and the used media. It is highly resistant to a wide range of solvents (including water), has a low coefficient of friction and low cured film refractive index. It has excellent thermal, oxidative and UV stability, resists yellowing and is suitable for high speed application. Markets for this coating include electronics, fibre optic telecommunications and military applications.
