Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A novel emulsion polymerization technique is described to produce core-shell latex particles comprising poly(vinyl acetate) cores inside vinyl-acrylic shells. In a variation, acrylic shells can be produced surrounding poly(vinyl acetate) or vinyl acrylic cores. The latexes can be produced at commercial solids levels, with controlled, monodisperse particle sizes. The coatings formed from such core-shell particles exhibit the properties expected of the shell polymers. Core monomers are less expensive than the shell monomers, resulting in significant savings in raw material costs. The technique described is an inverted core-shell process in which the second-stage polymer is engulfed by a previously formed first-stage material. In coatings formulations the less expensive second stage monomers are more hydrophilic than those used to make the first stage polymer. Nevertheless, an inverted core-shell morphology can be made thermodynamically stable by appropriate choices of copolymerizable surfactants in the first-stage copolymer and nonionic initiator for the second-stage polymer. The resulting anchoring groups stabilize the desired particle structure.
Solidité de la couleurIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Textile pigment printing and dyeing is an environmentally friendly and sustainable clean production technology that has the advantages of saving water, saving energy and reducing pollution. However, the application of this technology in industry is severely limited because of the disadvantages of stiff hand feeling, poor wet rubbing fastness and other performance properties of traditional pigment-printed fabric. To improve the pigment printing performance, a novel method of preparing hybrid pigment latex containing silicone by one-step mini-emulsion copolymerisation of silicone and acrylic monomers was explored in this work. Here, a comprehensive study of the effect of the ratio of silicone and acrylic, and the silicone component of alkoxysilane and cyclic siloxanes, on the properties of hybrid latex films and pigment-printed polyester fibres, was conducted. It was found that, with an increasing amount of silicone, the hybrid pigment latex films gradually enhanced the water resistance, flexibility and thermal stability properties. Those water repellencies and smooth feeling properties were achieved by incorporating the hydrophobicity and the flexibility of the copolymer chains of silicone. The waterborne self-adhesive hybrid pigment containing silicone can be directly applied for pigment printing of polyester fabric. Compared with the control printing system (without silicone), it not only exhibited an equivalent colour strength, but also improved the colour fastness and hand feel. Based on these results, this approach may provide insights into the rational design of waterborne self-adhesive textile hybrid pigments for high-quality printing performance. Revêtements antisalissuresIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In order to improve the hydrophobicity and applied properties of leather products, 3- (Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (KH-570) and Dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate (G04) were used as modified monomers preparing a fluorosilicone polyacrylate leather finishing agent by semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerisation. The structure of the prepared latex film was characterised and analysed by FTIR and XPS. The effects of the addition of silicone monomer on the latex film and the application properties were investigated by SEM and TG. The results showed that: both the organic fluorine and the silicone monomers participated in the polymerisation, and the particle size of the emulsion was 50-70nm. XPS showed that the fluorine and silicon elements in the film-air interface were 1.74% and 3.12% higher than the theoretical values. SEM showed that the surface microstructure of the latex film of the fluorosilicone copolymer emulsion was relatively rough, and the roughness was helpful to further improve the hydrophobicity and antifouling property of the finished leather. TG showed that, after the addition of silicone monomer, the heat resistance of the film was obviously improved. Compared with fluorinated polyacrylate emulsion, the contact angle of the leather sample finished by organo fluorosilicone polyacrylate emulsion to water increased about 7°. The applied properties of the finished leather were also improved. PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In order to improve the hydrophobicity and softness of leather, a fluoro-silicon-modified waterborne polyurethane (FSiWPU) leather finishing agent was prepared by emulsion polymerisation using 1H,1H,2H,2H-Nonafluoro-1-hexanol (F9) and N-(2-aminoethyl) -3-aminopropyl trimethoxy silane (KH-792) as modified monomers. The structure of the latex film and the film was characterised by FTIR, XRD and UV. The effects of F9 and KH-792 on the properties of the film was investigated. The water contact angle and application properties of the coated leather were tested. FTIR and XRD showed that F9 and KH-792 were successfully introduced into the main chain of waterborne polyurethane. The particle size of the modified composite emulsion was 106nm; the UV transmittance of the composite emulsion was significantly reduced compared to pure aqueous polyurethane. The water contact angle of the leather finished with the composite emulsion was 111° Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES : Materials - Preparation of fluorosilicone waterborne polyurethane emulsion - Finishing technology of leather - Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR) analysis - XRD analysis of emulsion - Particle size analysis of emulsion - UV analysis of emulsion - Contact angle of finished leather to water - Testing of the finished leather applied properties
