The results of Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and dynamic light scattering suggested the obtained hybrid particles emerged with trilayer core–shell pattern. Contact angle analysis, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and atom force microscopy results indicated that the hybrid film containing SiO2 NPs showed higher hydrophobicity, lower surface free energy and water absorption, in comparison with the control system (without SiO2 NPs). Compared with the control system, the hybrid latex film containing SiO2 NPs in the fluorinated polyacrylate shell layer showed the higher content of fluorine atoms and a rougher morphology on the film surface. Additionally, thermogravimetric analysis demonstrated the enhanced thermostability of PSQ-based nanosilica composite fluorinated polyacrylate latex film. TannageIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : A novel epoxide (IEGA) is synthesized using isophorone diamine (IPDA) and epichlorohydrin (ECH) as starting materials. The structure of IEGA is characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR). The tanning performance of IEGA is tested in ethanol from the aspects of the IEGA dosage, tanning temperature, pH value, and tanning time on shrinkage temperature (Ts) of sheep skin. It is found that under the optimized conditions with IEGA, the Ts of sheep skin tanned with IEGA is about 86°C, which is higher than normal epoxide tanned leather. Furthermore, SEM showed that IEGA tanned leather obtained better opened-up fiber structure than glycerol triglycidyl ether (GTE) tanned leather. Tanning mechanism investigation suggested that the cross-linking process should be predominately taking place among the -NH2 groups of collagen fibers by the epoxy groups of IEGA.

Polymères -- SynthèseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) is a low-cost chemical raw material. A new synthetic method produces DCPD-based acrylic resins. These resins contain a bridged bicyclic skeleton, which is different from traditional linear or cyclic aliphatic and aromatic structures and exhibits different application properties such as higher glass transition temperature, lower UV absorption and lower viscosity. These new DCPD-based acrylic resins will be alternative raw materials for coating production and will increase DCPD applications for low-cost coating resins. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTS

Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Stress corrosion is a form of corrosion that takes place in metal resulting from the conjoint action of stress and chemical. It is abbreviated as SCC. It is a phenomenon associated with a combination of static tensile stress, environment, and a metal metalIurgical condition which leads to component failure due to the initiation and propagation of a high aspect ratio crack. It is characterized by fine cracks (Figure-1), which lead to failure of potential components of the structure concerned. The SCC is an insidious form of corrosion ; it produces a marked loss of mechanical strength with little metal loss. The damage is not obvious to casual inspection and the stress corrosion cracks can trigger mechanical fracture and catastrophic failure of components and structures. Caustic cracking and hydrogen embrittlements are also the specific type of stress corrosion cracking. The failures are more often sudden and unpredictable which may occur after as I ittle as few months to years of previously satisfactory service. Several major disasters have involved stress corrosion cracking, including the rupture of high-pressure gas transmission pipes, the explosion of boliers, and the destruction of power stations and oil refineries.
