Furthermore, the HBAR was modified with several proportions (10, 20, 30, and 40 wt%) of maleic anhydride (MA) to obtain maleinized HBAR (HBARMAs). The structural, thermal, rheological, and film properties of the HBAR and HBARMAs were evaluated for the purpose of estimating the effect of MA content on the properties of the HBARMAs. HBARMAs exhibited hydroxyl values inferior to that of the HBAR and it decreased with the MA content. Infrared and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) analyses provided evidence of the formation of the HBAR and HBARMA. The number average molar mass () of the HBP4 was lower than that of the HBAR, but those of the HBARMAs were higher. Using dynamic light scattering analysis, it was observed that HBAR exhibited smaller hydrodynamic dimensions than HBARMAs. The glass transition temperature (Tg), onset decomposition temperature (Tonset), and viscosity (η) values of the HBARMAs increased with the MA content and it was higher than those of the HBAR. However, the drying time exhibited the opposite behavior. Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Synthesis of HBAR - Synthesis of the HBARMAs - Characterizations of the materials

Réticulation (polymérisation)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Novel malonate-functional polyesters from biobased and potentially biobased monomers were developed and cured through the base-catalyzed carbon-Michael addition reaction with acryloyl-functional oligomers. Both drop-in monomers, such as fully biobased diethyl malonate, and alternative raw materials, such as isosorbide and vegetable oil, were introduced. Isosorbide-based polyesters show improved performance to humidity in terms of adhesion on epoxy-amine primer, while vegetable oil-containing resins lead to improved coating appearance due to better flow and levelling. This study demonstrates that biobased malonate resins, having renewable contents up to 53%, offer attractive performance benefits in 2K RMA paints. It is anticipated that, with the development of additional fully biobased polyols, renewable contents in excess of 80% can be achieved. Note de contenu : - Materials

(Wikipedia)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this study, a microwave-assisted polyol technique was used to synthesize vanadium-containing nanopigments of ZrSiO4. The influence of microwave power (300–900 W) and irradiation time (60–120 s) on the purity, crystallinity, and particle size of the synthesized nanoparticles was studied. The resulting powder (synthesized and calcined) was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). XRD analysis shows that the 300 W synthesized powder is composed of solid amorphous particles. The microwave power was increased to 900 W to convert all particles to crystalline nano-ZrSiO4. The experiment revealed the critical influence of irradiation time and microwave power on purity and crystallinity. The microwave effect can accelerate the reaction and the nucleation rate of ZrSiO4 at a lower reaction temperature. The nanoparticles obtained were tested as ceramic pigments, and the colorimetric parameters of CIELab were measured. Structure and colorimetric studies have confirmed that a fully crystalline zircon phase can be obtained at 1100°C and can be used as a blue pigment. Rendement en charbonIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In this study, a noncoplanar diimide diacid monomer (DIDA) was synthesized by direct condensation of trimellitic anhydride (TMA) with m-tolidine. The noncoplanar unit was incorporated into poly(amide-imide)s (PAIs) main chain by Yamazaki-Higashi phosphorylation of DIDA with various aromatic diamines. Encouragingly, all of the PAIs show good solubility in some common solvents such as N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc), N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP), and m-cresol. In addition, the soluble PAIs show good optical transmittances of beyond 85 % at 500 nm due to the decreased crystallization ability. On the other hand, PAIs possess good mechanical properties with tensile strengths of 72–90 MPa and tensile moduli beyond 2 GPa. Meanwhile, the designed PAIs also exhibit excellent thermal properties: their glass transition temperatures (Tg) range from 278 to 314 °C, initial decomposition temperatures (5 % weight loss temperatures, T5wt%) are beyond 470 °C, coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) are below 10 ppm/°C. The excellent mechanical and thermal properties are due to the strengthened hydrogen bonding interaction among the amide groups. Therefore, it is believed that incorporating noncoplanar unit and amide group into the polymer main chain at the same time can simultaneously improve processability, optical transparency, mechanical and thermal properties. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the char of PAI at 800 °C is as high as 72.5 %, which is one of the highest known values. When PAI was incorporated into epoxy resin, the blend passed UL94 V-0 rating due to the high charring capability of PAI.
