Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Phosphorus-containing flame retardant water-dispersed polyurethane coatings were produced by incorporating different amounts of a phosphorus compound onto the polyurethane main chain. The novel phosphorus containing compound (phosphorus phenyl dihydroxy) was synthesized in three steps using benzaldehyde, pentaerythritol, phenyl phosphonic dichloride, and acetic acid.
The addition of phosphorus phenyl dihydroxy to the main chain of polyurethane, in which NCO/OH ratio was kept constant at 1.5 and the amount of dimethylolpropionic acid (DMPA) at 3.5 wt%, increased the hardness and abrasion resistance, but only slightly decreased the gloss values of the polyurethane paints. All the samples showed superior impact resistance and flexibility. Moreover, increasing the phosphorus content increased the char yield, and the maximum fire retardancy was reached at 1.5% P content with a limiting oxygen index (LOI) value of 29.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5574

The designed multiarm bio-based acrylates (AECC) were successfully prepared by epoxidizing the unsaturated aliphatic chain of cardanol segments with m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid and acrylating epoxy groups. The synthesized oligomers contain rigid phosphazene/benzene rings as “hard cores” and long aliphatic chains as “flexible shells.” Compared with commercial hyperbranched polyurethane acrylate (CN2302) and acrylated epoxidized soybean oil, cured AECC coatings and films exhibited not only greater hardness, excellent adhesion, higher glass transition temperatures, and excellent mechanical properties but also good thermal stability and biodegradability. We successfully obtained a high-performance UV-curing resin that has a high biorenewable material content and can meet basic daily requirements.

ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Isocyanate-free urethane coatings were prepared from renewable resources through the aminolysis reaction of five-membered cyclic carbonate from linseed oil and phenalkamine from cashew nut shell liquid. The five-membered cyclic carbonate functional reactants were synthesized from epoxidized linseed oil through carbon dioxide insertion. The porous-free urethane coatings were prepared on aluminum substrates using synthesized carbonated linseed oil and phenalkamine at three different mixing ratios (1:0.5, 1:0.75, and 1:1.25) and at three different cure temperatures (60, 80, and 100°C). The formation of urethane linkages and the rate of cyclic carbonate conversion during the aminolysis reaction were characterized using FTIR spectroscopy. The thermal behavior of the cured urethane films was characterized using thermogravimetry. The effects of amine concentration and cure temperature on the optical, mechanical, and end-use properties of the coatings were evaluated by measuring specular gloss, solvent resistance, crosshatch, solvent swelling, and impact strength. The increase in cure temperature was directly proportional to the rate of aminolysis reaction and also to the coating performances. The terminal groups have been either benzoates, propionates, or hydroxyls. The glass transition (Tg) and viscosity of the resins have been shown to depend on the polarity of the end groups. The increase in viscosity gives the hydroxy functional resin the highest viscosity, while the propionate functional resin has the lowest Tg and viscosity. The acrylates are all free radically UV cured with little or no oxygen inhibition found. The residual unsaturation in the cured films is not detectable with Raman spectroscopy, i.e., less than five percent. The cured films are all hard with a Tg difference varying with the structure of terminal groups in the resins.
Si(OCH2CH3)4 + 2 H2O → SiO2 + 4 CH3CH2OH.

The prepolymer was mixed with crosslinking agent and photoinitiator to form coating formulas. The coating was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and contact angle measurements. The results indicated that the dosage of AMPS and TEOS had great influence on the antifog performance. With an increasing TEOS amount, the hardness, adhesion, water resistance, impact resistance, and thermal stability of the films were improved, at the expense of transparency ; with increasing dosage of AMPS, the hydrophilicity of the film increased at the expense of water resistance. Optimum coating properties could be obtained when the amount of AMPS was 7% and that of TEOS was 5.5%. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) results showed that some SiO2 microspheres were formed and microphase separation occurred between the macromolecular segments, yielding the excellent coating properties.
