Technologie médicaleIndex. décimale : 681.51 Electronique et informatique industrielle, capteur Résumé : This paper presents the proposal and characterisation of a flexible, shockproof, vibration-free, longitudinal and transversal compressive displacement sensor based on a composite of CI Disperse Orange 25 and carbon nanotubes created with an energy-free, drop-casting technique. The structural morphology of each layer is studied briefly through X-ray diffraction. Electric investigations of the sensors in the form of impedance were performed as a function of longitudinal and transversal compressive displacement at three different frequencies. The compressive displacements were measured from 0 to 250 µm at three fixed frequencies (ie, 1, 10 and 200 kHz). The impedance has an inverse relationship with longitudinal compressive displacement but a direct relationship with transversal compressive displacement. The frequency to impedance relationship is inverse with the sensitivity of the impedance as a function of longitudinal displacement. Because of their small size, light weight and simple fabrication technique and design, as well as their low cost and maintenance, these types of devices can be utilised across a wide range of medical applications, such as in rehabilitation centres, for machine status assessment during physiotherapy, and in robotic body parts, as well as for educational purposes in universities. Vernis -- Propriétés mécaniquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A novel UV-absorbing and free-radical-catching fluorine–silicone acrylic resin with 2-(4-benzoyl-3-hydroxyphenoxy) ethyl acrylate (BHEA), 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl methacrylate (TMPM), dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate (DFMA) and 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS) as functional monomers was successfully synthesized by solution copolymerization. Based on various investigations, our characterization results for the resin and its coating indicated that the resin exhibits high UV-absorbing and free-radical-catching performances, and the hydrophobicity of the varnish coating was promoted by the actions of fluorine and silicone. In addition, the weatherability improved because of the enduring triple protection of the UV absorbent (BHEA), free-radical-catching agent (TMPM), fluorine (DFMA) and silicone (MPS). After a 1000-h aging test, the color difference (∆E) and rate of loss of gloss (∆G) of varnish coatings were 2.96% and 62%, respectively, and the impact strength and flexibility of color paint coatings were 420 N cm and 2 mm, respectively. Moreover, the chemically bonded free-radical-catching agent (TMPM) showed a more enduring performance for producing nitroxides than the simple blend. Polysiloxane and silicone are synonymous used expressions. Although silicone is the more commonly used term we'll mainly use the term polysiloxane, because it's clearer with respect to the chemistry and avoids misunderstanings with the metal silicone or polysiloxane chemistry.
'What is a polysiloxane ?' A polysiloxane is any one of a class of synthetic materials characterised by silicon and oxygen linked together in the siloxane bond, having organic groups attached to silicon, which have a distinct bearing on the properties.
Just as carbon atoms are the building blocks in conventional organic chemistry, so are silicon atoms the basic blocks to which we add organic side chains to build polysiloxane compounds having wide variety of usages and properties.
Three different methods are mainly used by the industry to produce the basic chlorosilane intermediates from which polysiloxanes are made. The three method are : Direct Method, Grignard Method and Olefin Addition Method. Because of limited space, here is just a short description of the most important one - the Direct Method.Note de contenu : - How to make polysiloxanes

It exploits the film-forming characteristics of polydimethylsiloxanes on human skin, ensuring an optimal distribution of the attached UV absorbers when applied as a sun cream. This results in remarkably high performance sun care products which are suitable for all skin typer but especially for sensitive skin due to its minimal skin penetration.
