RevêtementsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The evaluation of waviness, also known as orange peel, is essential for the quality control of materials in industrial fields working with high gloss materials, e.g., coatings, automotive and metal fabrication. This paper presents an affordable noncontact method for waviness analysis based on a single image of the light source reflected from the surface under study. The spatial perturbations along the contour of the light source reflection are compared to the ideal contour and analyzed in the Fourier domain to obtain standard features that have been compared to commercial ripple characterization device. Additional three method-specific features are proposed and evaluated. Our method has been tested on a set of ten orange peel standards, ten effect, and three solid coating samples and shows promising performance in waviness characterization of glossy surfaces. Stabilité au stockageIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The coatings sector has a limited range of renewable and sustainable raw mate-rials to choose from. To meet consumer expectations and legal requirements, alternatives are needed that ensure sustainable use of resources. Today's sustainable alternatives often lag their synthetic counterparts in performance or price, but rapid progress is being made in the development of suitable substitutes. In the area of wax additives, sustainable solutions are available. Here, we compare their property profiles with those of fossil products Note de contenu : - What is wax ?

SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Waxes are increasingly being used as surfactant conditioner additives as they are more economical, reliable and safer.
Among the huge plethora of additives available today, waxes have a significant impact on many formulations or processes. They are cheaper, more reliable and less often associated with side effects even if used in relatively small quantities - typically below 3% solids content of the total composition.
Waxes impart or improve effects as various as slip and lubrification, abrasion resistance, anti-blocking, mating, water repellency ..., all critical properties in the paint, coating and ink areas. As a result waxes are often classified as Surface Conditioner Additives.Note de contenu : - WAX DEFINITION AND TYPES

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The latest technology in hydroxy functional acrylic resins, improve the state-of-the-art of waterborne two-component (WB2K) polyurethane coatings.
A significant improvement in the state-of-the-art of waterborne resins for 2K isocyanate curing has been developed. The Novos resin developments are free of any co-solvents, offering formulation freedom in type and amount of co-solvents to tailor and balance specific properties such as BFFT, hardness and gloss. Application robustness has been improved by another step in maximising BFFT (up to 140µm) while improving the miscibility with economical hydrophobic isocyanates. The combination of these attributes facilitates the formulation of WB2K coatings very low VOC levels and high BFFTs that are suitable for topcoats, clear coats or even DTM one layer systems.Note de contenu : - POLYURETHANE CROSSLINKING
