Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : During film formation, specific coating ingredients develop local gradients in concentration, depleting some regions and enriching others. Often, this is considered a nuisance – but such effects may also be deliberately used to design highly effective coating systems. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The properties of most organic pigments make the possibility of their bioaccumulation very unlikely, and experimental evidence supports this view. As our author argues, they should therefore not be classified as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPS), nor as Persistent, Bioaccumulative, and Toxic (PBT) substances. - Aquatic toxicity studies are difficult

[article]

Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Coatings experts often say that surface preparation of a steel surface is the most important part of a coating system. By this they mean that surface preparation affects the performance of the coating more than any other variable. Given that the proper coating system has been selected, if the surface preparation is poor, coating performance will often be compromised, even when the application is perfect. If surface preparation is good, then the coating applied over it is likely to perform well. For you, the applicator, it is useful to know why surface preparation is so important, because knowing why can help you do a better job. The following discussion focuses on the preparation of steel, but the concepts apply to other substrates as well. Note de contenu : - Surface preparation is a foundation
- Overcoming the negative of slipperiness
- Overcoming the negative of debris
- Non-visible contaminants
