Résistance à l'humidité:Résistance à l'eauIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : 1,2-Pentanediol (INCI: Pentylene Glycol, trade name: Hydrolite-5) is a widely used cosmetic raw material with multifunctional properties. It is an excellent moisturizing ingredient for topical preparations. Besides it has very good antimicrobial and solubilizing properties. It also improves the water resistance of sunscreen formulations. This paper discusses the studies that exemplify the multifunctional aspects of 1,2-Pentanediol. It also discusses the results of a new study, which looks at the effect of 1,2-Pentanediol on the particle size and particle size distribution of an oil-in-water emulsion. The new study shows that 1,2-Pentanediol is able to significantly reduce the particle size of cosmetic emulsions. Furthermore, sensory studies with emulsions containing 1,2-Pentanediol demonstrated that the appearance and the tactile properties of cosmetic emulsions are also improved by the addition of this multifunctional ingredient. Textiles et tissus -- FinitionIndex. décimale : 677 Textiles Résumé : The pH value of the human skin is not in the neutral range but is slightly acidic with values of - depending on the body part - 3.5 to 6. This provides a suitable habitat for the commensal skin fora but has a killing effect on some pathogenic micro-organisms and an inactivating effect on some viruses. This protective acid mantle of the skin thus represents a first external protective layer against infestation by pathogens. An appropriate surface pH on textiles can help to minimize the transmission of pathogens through the clothing of healthcare workers while at the same time not exerting a nega¬tive influence on the skin's own fora. In addition, the colonization of e.g. bed linen by pathogenic microorganisms can be reduced. This can also have a positive influence on bacteria-associated odor formation on functional clothing.

SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Consumers demand natural products that are safe, sustainable, and effective for adoption in their personal grooming routine. Regulatory restrictions of active ingredients, such as zinc pyrithione, have posed challenges for formulators seeking to provide high-performing products with a premium consumer experience. The use of multifunctional ingredients provides tangible benefits to haircare, while resulting in simplified ingredient lists. Addition of multifunctional raw materials also offers the benefit of decreasing the susceptibility of the formulation to microbial contamination, resulting in enhanced product protection when combined with an approved Annex V preservative.
Herein, we highlight the application of the green multifunctional surfactant – Solbrol® CLL (INCI: sodium caproyl/lauroyl lactylate, and sodium citrate) – for use in haircare. Offering an excellent foaming experience, the surfactant also adds to the holistic formulation strategy by decreasing microbial susceptibility of the total formulation, as evidenced by MIC data, along with microbial efficacy in shampoo of the multifunctional surfactant when paired with sodium benzoate. Strategic implementation of the surfactant offers a creative solution for formulators developing other personal care products.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HzBEUEB0KAl1HGHYUExfWluFPtfpZJHx/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=38247
