We fabricated samples 13y a lyophilization technique utilizing the corresponding hide powder fibre (HPF). The oil sorption capacity, sorption saturation time, and retention capacity of prepared sorbents were studied. The results showed that oil sorption capacity of PDMS-modified HPF for silicone oil and vegetable (rape) oil were 6.98 and 5.58g/g, respectively. This sample exhibited the highest oil sorption capacity. The resuits suggest that with appropriate pore size, high porosity and low apparent surface energy, collagen fibre based sorbent would demonstrate favourable oil sorption characteristics and is very promising for ail cleanup application. We chose iron oxide/graphene oxide (Fe3O4/GO) nanohybrids to modify a PU sponge to increase the surface roughness of the sponge without damaging its inherent structural properties. The composite was then treated with octadecane thiol to reduce the surface energy and produce a superhydrophobic and oleophilic absorption material with a water contact angle of 157°. From the absorption experiment with simulated oily water (including diesel oil, lubricating oil, rapeseed oil, chloroform, N,N-dimethyl formamide, tetrahydrofuran, ethanol and acetone), it was found that the Fe3O4/GO-modified PU sponge could absorb up to 80–170 times its own weight while showing outstanding recyclability achieved by squeeze/absorption cycles. Moreover, the composite absorption material exhibited weak magnetic properties, suggesting its recycling practicability. These results provide a quick and simple strategy to deal with oil spills and chemical leakage. Hydroxydes doubles lamellairesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and mixed oxides derived from its calcination have been reported in the literature as promising adsorbent materials in the remediation of several environmental pollutants. Due to their physicochemical properties, adsorption capacity and simple thermal regeneration procedure, these materials are interesting alternatives to conventional adsorbents. In this context, this study presents the synthesis, characterization and the results obtained with calcined LDH of CuZnAI for the colour removal in water of Acid Red 357, an anionic dye used in leather dyeing. The solid was synthesised by the co-precipitation method and characterised by N2 physisorption, Xray diffractometry and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The influence of contact time on the adsorption process, adsorbent dosage and the memory effect of the mixed oxide were evaluated. The results showed an 80% removal percentage for counting times over 90 minutes and the ability of the adsorbent to reconstruct the lamellar structure after adsorption. Solutions aqueuses (chimie)Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Effluent generated by the textile industry can be highly coloured. Before the waste is disposed into receiving waters, colour removal is an important consideration. Because of their complex molecular structures, dyes present in the textile wastewater are not removed easily by conventional wastewater treatment processes. They are fairly stable to light, as well as heat, and resist biodegradation, thus posing a challenge to conventional physico-chemical and biological treatment methods. Although adsorption technology using activated carbon has been considered to be an effective and proven technology, it has its limitations as it is expensive and necessitates regeneration. As cost is an important consideration in most developing countries, efforts have been made to explore the possibility of using various low-cost alternatives that are biodegradable, abundant, readily available, and are derived from waste materials. This article is a compilation of the investigations carried out by numerous researchers (from 2002 onwards) on the effective use of different kinds of low-cost adsorbents for the removal of specific dyes from textile wastewater.
