ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : The ecological footprint of plastics and their energy-intensive production has long been
subject of public criticism. With this in mind Lorenz Kunststofftechnik and the Leibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (IVW) worked to find ways to make a thermoset composite with a lower CO, footprint as part of a research project.Note de contenu : - Analysis of the required parameters
- Characterization and manufacture of a partially organic semi-finished product
- Use in industrial-scale
- Fig. 1 : SMC production line : In collaboration with the Leibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (IVW), Lorenz Kunststofftechnik researched ways to make a thermoset composite with a lower CO2 footprint
- Fig. 2 : Truck panel : The lower density achieved with the new organic SMC opens up new opportunities for it in the automotive industry
- Fig. 3 : Demonstrator rear spoiler: The partially organic-based semi-finished product shows very good flow properties. Filling of complex ribbed structures is possible with conventional processing parameters. There is no de-mixing of fiber and matrix
- Fig. 4 : Composition of the GF-SMC formulation: After iterative test series for different resin systems, suitable formulations were developed that show the desired viscosity, flow, and impregnation behavior for the respective application.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EssNHsidYozvxjzodOkQCk59EzfhZ-Vw/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=35697

ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Three eco-friendly solutions are prominent in coating industry especially in the field of Automotive coating. In Indian context, water based coatings are not feasible for its cost & other operational issues, thus it is limited to CED application only. High solid coatings are the next alternate & it is gaining popularly for reduced VOC emission without compromising the physical & chemical properties of the coatings. Simultaneously all OEM manufacturers are seeking solutions for low bake coatings to restrict energy consumption in the curing process which will reduce carbon footprint in the whole supplychain.
When we talk about low bake coatings, reactivity & catalysis plays pivotal role in achieving results. Developing a low bake top coat has many challenges. Increased reactivity of the resin system often contributes to uncontrolled & incomplete reaction which is responsible for poor physical, chemical & weathering properties. Use of excess catalyst also has an impact on Electrical Resistivity (ER) which is a very important application parameter for electrostatic spray application. Combination of catalysis & reactivity negatively impacts storage stability. Judicious selection of catalyst, its dose optimization, right combination of crosslinker resin, Base to crosslinker ratio is very important to get desired results. In the current research paper we will explore various aspects of low bake formulation ingredients & their effect on coating performance to develop a low bake glossy monocoat white which meets the performance requirements of commercial vehicle manufacturers.Note de contenu : - Technology feasibility in Indian market

ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Thermosets are being increasingly used for packaging electronic devices, and offer good properties for this application. Direct overmolding of the components is particularly interesting here. However, achieving a successful product requires striking a balance between processability, thermal conductivity and reproducibility. Note de contenu : - More gentle processing compared to thermoplastics
- Special features of the filling behavior
- Power loss and thermal conductivity not proportional
- Failures with to high cavity pressure
- Differences between simulation and reality
- Figure : In direct packaging, the electronic devices or components are directly overmolded with the molding compound
- Fig. 1 : Thermal conductivity depending on the flow direction for different sheet thicknesses: with increasing sheet thickness, the thermal conductivity decreases in the x-direction and increases in the z-direction
- Fig. 2 : Thermal conductivity (left) and power consumption (right; with/without convection) for 2 mm thick sheets of different thermoset molding compounds: the thermal conductivity and power consumption of the materials increase disproportionately to one another
- Fig. 3 : Comparison of the cavity pressures for materials with lower (left) and higher (right) viscosity: at lower viscosity, the cavity pressure is significantly lower
- Fig. 4 : Fault patterns in SMD and THT electrolytic capacitors: higher cavity pressures can lead to damage of the devices
