ViscositéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Acetylenic based surfactants have long found utility in compliant coatings such as waterborne systems and are demonstrated here to enhance performance of solventborne high solids systems. Three new additives are shown to reduce surface defects such as craters and orange peel in conventionally spray applied polyester and epoxy paints. Important to this new additive technology is the lack of adverse effect on physical properties, recoatability, and durability of the applied coating. Also discussed are the theory and background of the origins of surface defects with emphasis on the influence of additives on paint rheology, compatibility, and surface tension. If components are not or only insufficiently checked for filmic residues, undetected residual dirt endangers the quality. Seamless inspection with test equipment for fluorescence measurement significantly reduces the risk. Note de contenu : - From mobile device to system solution

RevêtementsIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : The sun's energy, when absorbed by exterior surfaces, can transfer through to the envelope of a building, vessel or vehicle raising the internal temperature. An increase in temperature can make the interior more uncomfortable and could place heavy loads on air-conditioning systems.
This could lead to a rise in associated energy consumption, carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions. Solar reflective coatings are an economical, user-friendly and increasingly popular way ofhelping to prevent this rise.Note de contenu : - Emerging standards

RevêtementsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The exponential growth of urban areas has produced what is called the "Urban Heat Island" effect with heat-absorbing roofs being among the chief culprits. Houses with concrete slabs which are directly exposed to sun become very hot during summer and very cold during winter. The phenomenon of urban island is becoming increasingly more intense in urban areas modifying the microclimate of these areas and aggravating the climate. The desirable reduction in this can be achieved by using cool coatings which may be heat reflective or heat insulative in nature and has found applications in various sectors. A brief overview of cool coatings has been described in this paper and it is one of the ways to conserve the energy and reduce the energy consumption. Note de contenu : - NEED OF COOL COATINGS

ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Methylmethacrylate and styrene were copolymerized by suspension polymerization using water-acetone mixed solvents, keeping in view that this method would combine the advantages of solution and suspension (in water) polymerization in a number of ways to change the product properties suitable for coating and adhesive materials. The copolymers were characterised by infra-red (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The molecular weights of the copolymers were determined by gel permeation chromatographic technique. Their thermal stability was studied using thermo-gravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis.
