PolycarbonatesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Electrical and electronics manufacturers want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their products and optimize waste management and recycling for them. This can be achieved, among other ways, by using more sustainable thermoplastics and quality-assured recyclates. A close cooperation between companies to establish material cycles and the recycling-friendly design of equipment are also important. Note de contenu : - A climate-neutral polycarbonate

PolycarbonatesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The application of 3D printing of thermoplastics by Material Extrusion (MatEx) has commonly been limited by their poor mechanical strength that results from voids and weak interfaces between printed layers. Here, we demonstrate that core–shell structured filaments made of polycarbonate-based thermoplastics can achieve synergistic improvement in their interfacial bonding from the combination of high-glass transition temperature (T g)/high-viscosity core and low-T g/low-viscosity shell. Tensile strength along the printing direction was enhanced with the core–shell filaments. Layer-interfacial bonding strength as determined by Izod impact tests of the 3D printed parts is significantly improved by using filaments either with only a core–shell T g mismatch or both T g/viscosity core–shell mismatch. The mechanical behavior can be rationalized in terms of improved inter-layer molecule diffusion by a low T g/viscosity shell, better printability at higher temperature due to the core with higher melt strength, and better bulk mechanical strength of high-viscosity/T g core. The molecular structure was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Real time infrared spectroscopy was used to investigate the kinetics of photopolymerization of synthesized PUAs. The volume shrinkage was measured by laser displacement sensor. The adhesion on glass, polycarbonate (PC), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was tested by the laser micrometer and universal testing machine. The glass transition temperature (T g) and storage modulus (E′) were measured by dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA). The pendulum hardness, pencil hardness and flexibility were also measured. The results showed that the greater the amount of SA in synthesized PUAs, the lower the volume shrinkage and the better the adhesion to glass, PC, and PVC substrates. Revêtements -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultraviolet:Peinture -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultravioletIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Fluorinated polycarbonate-based UV-curable polyurethane acrylate (F-PCUA) was synthesized by incorporating 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-Perfluoro-1-octanol to the end of polycarbonate-based PUA chains. The structure of F-PCUA was determined by 1H-NMR, 19F-NMR, and FTIR analyses. The physical, surface, and thermal properties of F-PCUA were also examined. The F-PCUA was used as a hydrophobic additive in PUA coatings, and the water and oil wettability of the UV-cured film was investigated by contact angle measurements. The results showed that the coating system had great hydrophobicity. Furthermore, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy research confirmed that a hydrophobic fluorine-enriched surface was obtained in the coating system. Moreover, the mechanical and chemical properties of the hydrophobic coatings did not show deterioration with the introduction of elemental F. Titre : The best of both words : Analyzing the performance advantages of new hybrid epoxy resins that combine epoxy and various chemistries Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : John Pacanovsky, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 27-32 Note générale : Bibliogr.
