ViscositéIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : A novel set of three completely naturally-derived, PEG-free products based on polyglycerol ester chemistry covers the efficient solubilisation of a broad variety of different oils in water-based formulations. Polyglyceryl-3 Caprate/Caprylate/Succinate (and) Propylene Glycol (trade name: Tego® Solve 55) is especially suitable for solubilising perfume and essential oils. In addition, Polyglyceryl-6 Caprylate (and) Polyglyceryl-3 Cocoate (and) Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate (and) Polyglyceryl-6 Ricinoleate (trade name: Tego® Solve 61) is more effective for the solubilisation of very hydrophobic ingredients like natural oils (e.g. sunflower oil). Finally, light emollient esters like isopropyl myristate are effectively solubilised with Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate (trade name: Tegosoft® PC 41). In addition to their excellent solubilising properties, the three products are cold processable as well as electrolyte-resistant. They exhibit ultra¬mild cleansing properties and deliver moisturisation benefits. Formulations for various applications such as hair & body cleansers, AP/Deo roll-ons, wet wipe liquids, perfumes and micellar water/makeup remover can be prepared with these environmentally benign materials. Phospholipides
Produits hydratantsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Texture, skin feel and efficacy are some of the main criteria in the selection of a cosmetic product by a consumer. Phospholipid-based emulsifiers are therefore the perfect ingredients to master formulation and provideall these interesting characteristics to products. Various viscosities, improved skin feel, moisturising action, penetration boosting effect are the many advantages these emulsifiers can offer thanks to the presence of phospholipids. Phospholipids are unique compounds for formulators. Already well-known and widely used for their performance in formulations in terms of texture and skin feel, phospholipid-based emulsifiers are now proved to offer other added values. Their contribution to the reinforcement of the cutaneous barrier to improve skin hydration enables the claim of a 100% active base for an optimal efficacy. Also, due to their high affinity with the stratum corneum, the skin penetration and the bioavailability of active ingredients is optimised to guarantee a maximum efficacy to get better and faster clinical results. The presence of phospholipids also helps restructure and repair the skin to preserve its health and beauty with a guaranteed safety profile. Note de contenu : - PHOSPHOLIPIDS AS EMULSIFIERS : 1. Vitamine B

Vitamine EIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The present work is based on a study of the effect of some vitamins such as riboflavin (RF), nicotinamide (NA) and alpha-tocopherol (TP) on the photodegradation of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) (AH2) in oil-in-water cream formulations using a UV irradiation source. A UV spectrophotometric and the official iodimetric methods have been used for the assay of AH2 in cream formulations. These methods have been validated in the presence of RF, NA and TP before their application to the creams. The recoveries of AH2 in the creams are in the range of 90–95% and the reproducibility of the method is within ±5%. The apparent first-order rate constants (kobs) for the photodegradation of AH2 in the presence of RF, NA and TP, individually, in the creams have been obtained. The second-order rate constants for the photochemical interaction of AH2 and the vitamins RF, NA and TP have been determined from the plots of kobs for AH2 photolysis versus the individual vitamin concentration along with the values of k0 from the intercept on the vertical axis. The values of k0 in the presence of RF and NA are lower than those of the kobs, indicating that these vitamins act as photosensitizers for the degradation of AH2 in creams. On the contrary, the value of k0 in the presence of TP is higher than that of the kobs, suggesting a stabilizing effect of this vitamin on the degradation of AH2 in creams. The mode of interaction of the individual vitamins with AH2 on photolysis has been discussed.
Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Materials - Preparation of QSLNs - Analysis of particle size and zeta potential - Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis - In vitro occlusive effect test - Entrapment efficiency - Transmission electron microscopy analysis - Field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) analysis - Histological skin observation - In vitro skin permeation study - Confocal laser scanning microscopy analysis - Statistical analysis
