Textiles et tissusIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Superhydrophobic coatings in the recent past is gaining great deal of attention for the range of properties provided by them for applications such as anti-icing coatings, self cleaning, biomimetic engineering materials, fouling release coating etc. A typical superhydrophobic (ultra hydrophobic) surface can repel water droplets from wetting itself, and the contact angle of a water droplet resting on a superhydrophobic surface is greater than 150°, which means extremely low wet ability is achievable on superhydrophobic surfaces. Many superhydrophobic surfaces (both manmade and natural) normally exhibit micro- or nanosized roughness as well as hierarchical structure, which somehow can influence the surface's water repellence. As the research into superhydrophobic surfaces goes deeper and wider, it is becoming more important to both academic fields and industrial applications . The scope of this article orbits around superhydrophobic coating, their working mechanism, fabrication techniques that enable the development of such coatings and their application in various fields.

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This study focuses on the vacuum-free deposition of nano-organosilicon coating through cyclonic plasma deposition on polymeric separators for application in lithium-ion batteries. Optical emission spectroscopy was used to determine various chemical plasma species and the association of the cyclonic plasma deposition of nano-organosilicon coating. The surface detections by ATR-FTIR and XPS revealed that the plasma power is the main reason affecting nano-organosilicon coating from organic to more inorganic features. The cyclonic-plasma-deposited nano-organosilicon coating was applied to the surface of a polymeric lithium-ion battery separator. The surface characteristics of the altered separator were analyzed through ATR-FTIR, TGA, EIS, and uptake test. The results indicated that the deposition of the nano-organosilicon coating on the separator surface improved the heat resistance and electrochemical performance of the polymeric separator. The synergistic effect of the cyclonic-plasma-coated separator was observed; that is, the electrolyte uptake of the cyclonic-plasma-coated separators was larger than that of a commercial separator. Spectroscopie ultravioletteIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A series of Schiff bases with hydroxyl anchoring group/s in various positions were synthesised. Their visible light absorption and electrochemical and physicochemical adsorption properties were investigated. Results show that the studied compounds have adequate highest-occupied-molecular-orbital and lowest-unoccupied-molecular-orbital levels that match with the conduction band of titanium dioxide and the redox potential of the electrolyte. Adsorption of azomethine compounds with hydroxyl group/s on titanium dioxide was studied. Experimental data show that the introduction of two ?-hydroxyethyl groups can greatly enhance the adsorption efficiency of the studied Schiff base on titanium dioxide. Sorption kinetics was measured for di-(?-hydroxyethyl)aminobenzyliden-2-aminobenzothiazol. Results show rapid initial sorption (<30 min), followed by a slower rate of increasing uptake between 0.5 and 6 h. Kinetic data were modelled using pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and intraparticle diffusion kinetics equations. These results indicate that the pseudo-second-order equation and intraparticle diffusion model can better describe the adsorption kinetics of di-(?-hydroxyethyl)aminobenzyliden-2-aminobenzothiazol onto titanium dioxide. TannageIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Mismanagement of various wastes especially waste water produced by tanning processes has caused serious environmental problems and ultimately impaired human health. Constant efforts have been making to alleviate the pollution of tannery wastewater (TWW), yet terminal treatment still takes dominance. In this review, research on TWW treatment from 2000 to 2021 was summarized, and main methods such as coagulation and flocculation, adsorption, biological treatment, membrane filtration, advanced oxidation process were briefly discussed. More detailed introduction was given to the method of electrochemical treatment since it has excellent performance such as environmental friendliness and high efficiency, hence attracting more and more research attention in recent years. In view of the harsh physi-chemical conditions of TWW, integrated or combined treatment methods are accordingly recommended with better performance and multi-function, however comprehensive studies on optimization of methods combination and cost-effectiveness are needed. The certain issues that the residue Cr in treatment sludge and high salinity in effluent still remain were put forward in this work and potential solutions were provided. Moreover, this review proposed the perspective that realizing multi-function, recycling, and intensification should be the developing direction for future TWW treatment. This review is expected to provide a general guide for researchers who aspire to ameliorate TWW pollution problems and understand various methods utilized in this field.
