Polymères opaquesIndex. décimale : 677.47 Non cellulosiques : Nylon, acryliques, polyesters, vinyles Résumé : To investigate the structure and properties of the opaque polyester fiber, the SEM, IR spectra, X-Ray diffraction and physical measurements were all used in this paper. The results showed that the cross-sectional of the opaque fiber was anormal and there were some particles in the fiber surface. Both the IR spectra and X-ray pattern of the fiber were similar to those of the PET and the tenacity of the opaque polyester was lower than that of the normal PET fiber, while the frictional coefficient was larger. Finally, the crimp characteristic of the opaque polyester fiber indicated that the fiber tested met the requirements of the worsted yarn manufacturing. SilanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This paper reports on a novel self-matte or bulk-matte waterborne polyurethane coating composite with inherently extremely low gloss. The coating composite was comprised of a siloxane-containing waterborne polyurethane (SPU) resin and a crosslinked waterborne polyurethane (CPU) resin. The CPU resin was mainly responsible for fabricating the micro-rough surface of the film, which was achieved by a crosslinking reaction between the waterborne polyurethane and bisphenol A-type epoxy E-44 resin. The SPU resin was used to improve the comprehensive properties of the film, which was ascribed to the addition of silane coupling agent KH792. Compared with traditional matte coatings, this coating composite made it possible to avoid high loadings of matting agent and to arrive at highly flexible low-gloss finishes. Gloss levels of as low as a few tenths of a percent, even at high incidence angles, have been achieved with zero loading of extraneous dulling agent. The chemical structures of the SPU and CPU resins were characterized by FTIR-ATR and NMR spectra. The micro-rough topographies and surface rough degrees of the SPU, CPU and their 50%/50% composite films were measured by SEM and MSP, respectively. The particle sizes and particle morphologies of the SPU and CPU resins were imaged by TEM. Finally, the comprehensive properties of the SPU, CPU and their 50%/50% composite resins were evaluated, including the water contact angle, film transparency, tensile strength and storage stability.

Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Identification and characterization of natural molecules - Effect of the natural ingredient on biological activities of skin cells

PhénolsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The present work analysed the antioxidative activity of phenol-based antioxidants using an electron spin resonance method to predict the activity and stability of these antioxidants in cosmetic products.
The antioxidative power (AP) method was chosen to measure both the capacity and kinetics of an antioxidative reaction by detecting the DPPH (diphenylpicrylhydrazyl) radical. The antioxidative capacity (wc) relates to the amount of free radicals that can be reduced, whereas the antioxidative reactivity (tr) relates to the reaction speed and offers a fingerprinting of the redox state of the antioxidant molecules. Fifteen phenolic molecules have been analysed. They differed in the position of the hydroxyl groups and substituents on the aromatic ring. The AP of two distinct formulations containing hydroxytyrosol is presented as well as three phenol-based antioxidants within the same formulation vehicle.
The rate at which phenol (ArOH) reacts with DPPH radicals, defined by the term reactivity (tr) in this paper, was dependent upon the bond dissociation enthalpy (BDE) of the OH bond. Molecules having weak OH bonds and consequently low BDE values showed high antioxidant reactivity. On the other hand, the capacity factor (wc), which is the concentration of phenol required to reduce a fixed concentration of DPPH radical, depends on the number and position of hydroxyl groups. The results showed that ortho and para positions of the two hydroxyl groups are important for higher capacity. If one of the two hydroxyl groups is blocked by methylation, both the antioxidative capacity and reactivity are reduced, mainly for ortho disubstituted compounds. The presence of a vinylic side chain improved reactivity and capacity tremendously. AP values may be useful in formulation design when identifying antioxidants that are likely to be physically and chemically stable. The importance of optimization of the formulation vehicle itself for a given antioxidant is also illustrated.
Based on the presented findings, it is possible to predict the antioxidative performance of a phenol-based molecule and its stability and oxidation resistance within a cosmetic formulation. This is essential for antioxidant containing dermal formulations designed to combat skin ageing.DOI : 10.1111/ics.12367 Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=28252
