Titre : Two coats in one : Fluoropolymer blending optimises costs, performance and metallic effects Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Hongli Wang, Auteur ; Shun Saitoh, Auteur Année de publication : 2017 Article en page(s) : p. 22-27 Note générale : Bibliogr.

These SOPEPs were used as the hydroxyl component of "two-component polyurethane (2K-PU)" coating compositions and their film properties were studied. Blends of commercial polyester polyol and SOPEP in varying proportions were also used to formulate PU coatings. Their film properties were studied and compared. We found that SOPEP can be used as the sole hydroxyl component or as the reactive diluent for polyester polyols in 2K-PU coating systems. SOPEP is derived from a relatively inexpensive and renewable resource and the use of SOPEP can substantially reduce VOC and cost ofPU coating formulations. ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A series of two-component UV-curable waterborne CO2-based polyurethane dispersions (UV-PUDs) with excellent flexibility and mechanical strength were synthesized from poly(propylene carbonate) diol (PPCD), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl) propionic acid (DMPA), 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA), pentaerythritol triacrylate (PETA) and 1,4-butanediol (BDO). One component was UV-curable waterborne polyurethane terminated by HEA and PETA (molar ratio 1:1), and the other component was linear waterborne polyurethane. The content of the UV-curable component in UV-PUD was 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, and 100% (weight content). The obtained cured films exhibited superior flexibility without loss of tensile strength, accompanied by excellent acid and alkali resistance. In particular, the dried UV-PUD films without curing showed good mechanical properties.

Souplesse (mécanique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Unsaturated polyester resins based on maleic and fumaric acids have been known since the 1920s. In the late 1930s, the modern form of these resins was introduced when Charleton Ellis combined styrene with unsaturated polyester.
Polyester and vinyl ester resins have been used in severe chemical environments for 50 years in the form of mortars for chemical-resistant brickwork and in fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP). These successes led to the development of chemical-resistant coatings and linings based upon these resins that offer superior resistance to a broad range of chemicals, especially acids, and to higher temperatures than most other coating types like epoxies and polyurethanes.
The terms "coatings" and "linings" are used throughout this article. For the purposes of this article, linings are composed of glass fabric, mat, or woven roving saturated with the cho¬sen resin. They are applied in sheets of fiberglass reinforce¬ment saturated in resin, which are then laid against the sub¬strate and rolled in place using a ribbed roller. Coatings are usually thinner than linings and are applied as a mixture by brush, roller, airless spray, and plural component spray.
This article describes the basic chemistry of polyesters and vinyl esters, properties, concerns with the materials, and application methods.Note de contenu : - BASIC CHEMISTRY
