Temps de cycle (production) -- RéductionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Thick-walled plastic optics are usually built up layer by layer in multilayer injection molding, as this significantly shortens the cycle time. In order to improve the quality and further reduce the cycle time, layer thickness ratios were varied at the German research institute and strategies for mold temperature control were developed. In addition, injection compression molding was adjusted to the multilayer process. Note de contenu : - Lower cooling times, higher molding accuracy
- Mold technology for the production of multilayer lenses
- Multilayer injection molding and injection compression molding process in comparison
- Optical quality in multilayer injection compression molding
- Fig. 1. The mold technology enables the production of multilayered lenses in injection molding or injection compression molding. The first process steps on both variants are equal
- Fig. 2. As the pre-molded part has no optical surface, it can be produced with a lower mold temperature
- Fig. 3. The Strehl ration depending on the layer thickness ratio and the tool tempering at the test points with the best optical properties. After process optimization, better optical properties are achieved in injection molding than in injection compression molding
- Fig. 4. Similar replication accuracies are achieved by injection molding and injection compression molding of multilayered lenses

Polyéthylène téréphtalateIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Plastic/metal hybrids - The IKV in Aachen, Germany, has investigated the influence of process management on the quality and durability of electrically conductive plastic components. In the process, the conductor tracks were molded into the plastic carrier by die casting in an integrated process. The results show that the components produced in this way have a long service life with regard to electrical loads. Compared to overmolding of inserts, the process can be an economical alternative. Note de contenu : - Plastic carrier with integrated metallic conductor track
- Venting is critical
- Electrically highly resistant and suitable for continuous use
- Is the change worthwhile ?
- The complexer, the more economic
- FIGURES : 1. Similar to multi-component injection molding with transfer technology, plastic parts with integrated conductor tracks are manufactured with IMKS - 2. Modular mold technology for the production of carrier plates with different conductor track geometries - 3. Influence of the die-casting settings on the relative number of defects : With low clamping force and injection speed, defects (see the air pockets at the bottom right) can be avoided - 4. Comparison of the temperatures at different currents : Small tracks can also transmit large currents - 5. Comparison of the measured voltage over 1000 load cycles :Even after 1000 cycles there is no voltage drop - 6. Static cost comparison method : For complex three-dimensional track shapes, manufacturing with the IMKS is economical

Matières plastiques -- Moulage par injection -- Appareils et matérielIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Though electric injection units execute all movements precisely and reproducibly, the fact that non-return valves cannot be controlled directly still leads to variations in the amount of melt injected. A new positively closing valve allows these weight variations to be minimized by controlled valve closure before injection. Note de contenu : - Application of the feasibility check analysis
- Validation and limitation of the method

PolypropylèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Hybrid filler systems - There are limits on the extent to which fiber-reinforced polymers can be loaded with fillers. To boost the mechanical properties, one solution is to replace some of the fibers with nano-fillers. This affords a way of selectively exploiting synergy effects between fibers and nano-fillers. PolypropylèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Efficient bipolar plates are needed for storing electric power obtained from renewable energy sources. While polypropylene makes a suitable matrix material for such plates, the necessary level of conductivity can only be obtained by loading it with up to 80 wt. % graphite. To prevent the compound from embrittling afterwards and to ensure it remains easy to process, a method of improving the impact strength with elastomers has been developed.
