Résumé : |
Thick-walled plastic optics are usually built up layer by layer in multilayer injection molding, as this significantly shortens the cycle time. In order to improve the quality and further reduce the cycle time, layer thickness ratios were varied at the German research institute and strategies for mold temperature control were developed. In addition, injection compression molding was adjusted to the multilayer process. |
Note de contenu : |
- Lower cooling times, higher molding accuracy
- Mold technology for the production of multilayer lenses
- Multilayer injection molding and injection compression molding process in comparison
- Optical quality in multilayer injection compression molding
- Fig. 1. The mold technology enables the production of multilayered lenses in injection molding or injection compression molding. The first process steps on both variants are equal
- Fig. 2. As the pre-molded part has no optical surface, it can be produced with a lower mold temperature
- Fig. 3. The Strehl ration depending on the layer thickness ratio and the tool tempering at the test points with the best optical properties. After process optimization, better optical properties are achieved in injection molding than in injection compression molding
- Fig. 4. Similar replication accuracies are achieved by injection molding and injection compression molding of multilayered lenses
- Fig. 5. Small changes in the compression parameters already have a major influence on the geometry and optical properties |
