Weld lines reduce the strength of injection molded parts – a problem that can hardly be avoided in product development. Therefore, an integrative calculation method was developed at IKV in Aachen, Germany, to predict the weld line strength of amorphous thermoplastics at an early stage. The method was successfully tested for polystyrene. |
