Vagin -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : In recent years, there has been a surge in the development of specialised products designed to maintain and support the wellbeing of women’s intimate areas. However, there is a lack of stringent regulations governing the intimate care niche. Yet we can transform the intimate care industry into a realm of safety, efficacy, and genuine care, as Albert Dashi of Sequential explains. Note de contenu : - The intimate care industry

Mitochondries
Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Mitochondria play a central role in metabolism and bioenergetics, and their main macromolecular structures have been determined down to the atomic level. However, the study of mitochondria is far from exhausted. Recent understanding of the essential role of mitochondria in the ageing process has raised considerable interest in a new anti-ageing approach that involves the development of new target molecules to protect against mitochondrial ageing and dysfunction. Several characteristics make motochondria unique. They are matrenally inherited and have their own unique DNA as well as the machinery to produce their own ribonucleic acid (RNA) and many proteins. Mitochondria are involved in many biological pathways such as skin cell proliferation and repair and regulation of the cellular redox state. In the skin, the number and activity of mitochondria are related to the differentiation process: terminally differentiated keratinocytes contain no mitochondria whereas basal keratinocytes and fibroblasts hold mitochondria that allow these cells to sustain their metabolic activities. Cellular protection against mitochondrial ageing would enable the cellular redox state in balance and to avoid mitochondrial dysfunction that would induce further cell damage. Strong interest in protecting mitochondrial DNA has been confirmed by its higher capacity to accumulate mutations and its lower capacity for repair compared with nuclear DNA. Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : With age, the skin microbiome changes and evolves from producing a postbiotic of youth markers (Youth Biome Markers, YBMs) to secreting a postbiotic of ageing markers (Senile Biome Markers, SBMs). These SBMs are activated by Quorum Sensing, a microbial communication system which allows them to coordinate their behaviour, turning them more virulent and producing degradative enzymes. These enzymes are harmful for the skin and lead to the appearance of signs of ageing: inflammation, redness, pores, loss of firmness and appearance of wrinkles.
The active Quora Noniâ„¢ biomics, obtained from Morinda citrifolia (noni) stem cells, inhibits the Quorum Sensing. By doing so, it rejuvenates the skin microbiota, reducing the SBMs and therefore, the wrinkles. At the same time, it increases the skin firmness and improves the imperfections (redness and pores) on mature skin profiles.Note de contenu : - INTRODUCTION : Hallmarks of ageing and the role of skin microbiota - Does the skin microbiota also age? - Quorum sensing, SBMs and skin ageing

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Skin-thinning in aged skin is considered an important factor in the formation of wrinkles. Due to natural ageing of the epidermal keratinocytes, there is a remarkable production of senescenceassociated secretory phenotype (SASP) factor, which induces matrix metalloproteinase-1 production in dermal fibroblasts, resulting in dermal thinning. Meanwhile, extracellular ATP (eATP) is known to induce the production of SASP factors, but the relationship between eATP and natural ageing is unknown. In this study, we showed the relationship between the increase of eATP in the epidermis and the dermal thinning seen with natural ageing. Peppermint leaf extract (PME) effectively suppressed the rise in eATP concentration due to natural ageing and environmental stress. Furthermore, PME suppressed skin thinning and improved various wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and neck wrinkles. These results suggest that PME is an antiageing material that suppresses eATPmediated dermal thinning and effectively improves wrinkles in many areas. Note de contenu : - Testing PME
