Applications of recycled carbon fibre in high volume manufacturing / Ben Andrews in JEC COMPOSITES MAGAZINE, N° 119 (03/2018)
[article]
Titre : Applications of recycled carbon fibre in high volume manufacturing Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ben Andrews, Auteur Année de publication : 2018 Article en page(s) : p. 51-52 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Composites à fibres de carbone -- Recyclage
NontissésIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Performance benefits of carbon fibre are well documented and have long been clear to manufactuers. The potential value-added benefits are slowly being realised and even implemented at an OEM level in the automotive industry. Cost is the last major barrier to overcome to see the use of carbon fibre become the norm in high volume manufacture. Recycling high grade fibres and converting them into affordable products poses a viable solution to the cost issue. So where can these products be implemented ? Titre : Applying automation to the fabrication of composite-based aerospace parts Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : John Melilli, Auteur Année de publication : 2010 Article en page(s) : p. 58-61 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 'Fibre minérale' Aérospatiale 'Application industrielle' 'Equipement mis en oeuvre' Stratifié 'Plastique renforcé fibre' 'Fabrication assistée' carbone' 'Matériau composite' Automatisation Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Aircraft and rotorcraft parts made from high-performance composite materials are superior to earlier generation metals due to their increased strength, reduced weight, and increased service life. For these reasons, most aircraft part designers choose to create new parts out of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic despite the challenges involved, namely that the manufacture of CFRP parts is more complex than traditional materials and can therefore make parts more costly to produce. This paper describes the method that Accudyne Systems has created for developing automation equipment to manufacture composite parts economically. TuyauterieIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Recent exciting technical advances have meant that composite materials are better equipped than ever to meet current and future challenges in deep-water and remote-area piping environments. Indeed, composites have become hugely popular materials for state-of-the-art piping systems, whether in spoolable monolithic flow lines, armour reinforcements in flexible pipes, composite-lined pipes, rigid risers or other applications. Note de contenu : - Prix au m² théorique
