Titre : Analysis of impact loading response on the composites materials as a function of graphite filler content using Taguchi Method Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Drai Ahmed Smait, Auteur ; Farag Mahel Mohammed, Auteur ; Hamid A. Al-Falahi, Auteur ; Hussam Lefta Alwan, Auteur ; Sameer Alani, Auteur Année de publication : 2023 Article en page(s) : 121-125 Note générale : Bibliogr.
(Wikipedia)

Experiments based on Taguchi methods were carried out in order to collect data systematically. The panel is fastened on three sides and left free for the destructive test. By applying the impact force. The vibration data collector is used to measure the deflection (TVC 200). During the destructive test, the panel is additionally fastened to a solid base for stability. The steel hammer came crashing down from above. A Vernier calliper is used to measure the distortion. The tests were planned using Taguchi's L9 orthogonal array method. Examine the effects of impact force, height, and graphite filler content on low-velocity deflections and deformations using analysis of variance. The findings demonstrate that the mass is the primary parameter influencing the deflection, whereas the graphite filler is the primary parameter influencing the deformation. As a last step, a confirmation tests have been run to make sure the predicted experimental outcomes from those correlations were correct. Note de contenu : - Materials and specimen preparation

ViscositéIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Immiscible PLA/PA11 of 80/20 and 50/50 wt% were compatibilized through addition of p-toluenesulfonic acid (TsOH) catalyst in reactive ultra-high speed twin-screw extrusion. Two mixing screw designs were compared for their ability to disperse the PA11 droplets in the PLA matrix as a function of screw speed up to 2000 rpm. The size and polydispersity of droplets of dispersed PA11 decreased when a high shear (HS) screw was used, whereas broad droplet size distribution was produced in the low shear (LS) screw. Two models predicting the droplet size dependence on shear rate, viscosity ratio and interfacial tension were fit to the experimental data. The Serpe model including volume fraction effects produced a better fit compared to the Wu model, which does not include volume fraction effects. Mechanical testing indicated that the compatibility of PLA/PA11 blends was improved through addition of TsOH catalyst for 50/50 wt% blends due to ester – amide exchange reactions at the interfaces in the immiscible PLA and PA11 phases. The enhancement of ductility was greater after processing with the LS screw configuration than the HS screw configuration. The inferior properties after high shear mixing were likely due to molecular weight degradation during processing. While the aggressive shear in the HS screw design resulted in fine dispersion, care should be taken to minimize degradation, especially for shear sensitive polymers. Polyéthylène téréphtalateIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In this paper, the residual stress in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, which was processed using blow-molding, was analyzed theoretically and numerically. First, the process of blow-molding was analyzed theoretically, which had considered both blowing process and curing of the polymer. The creep model was used to describe the relation between the deformation and the pressure in the blowing process, and thermo-chemical model was used to describe the curing process of the PET bottle. Then, a simulation was carried out using ABAQUS based on the creep model and thermo-chemical curing model. The deformation, residual stresses, heat flux vector and strain of the PET bottle during the blow-molding process were obtained. Finally, the effect of loading path on the residual stress was analyzed numerically, which shows that the longer the pressure was applied, the larger the residual stress. Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : On the premise that the overall structure and composition of the parts remain unchanged, the over-molding of self-reinforced polymer composites parts (OM-SRCs parts) prepared in this paper change the aggregation structure of the parts by combining multi-component sequential molding technology with micro-injection molding technology. Thus, it improves the comprehensive performance of the parts, and achieves the purpose of self-reinforcing. The morphological feature of self-reinforced parts during over-molding are obviously different from those formed by conventional injection molding, which also leads to differences in physical properties. In this study, two types of polypropylene parts of the same size (60 × 12 × 2 mm3) were prepared, and their micro-morphologies comparison were investigated by means of polarized light microscopy (PLM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD). From the results, it was found that the tensile properties of OM-SRCs parts were improved by up to 9.46% compared with the conventional parts. Through PLM observation, it is found that the section shape of OM-SRCs parts perpendicular to the flow direction shows a double “skin-core” structure, resulting in the increase of the area ratio of skin layer to 24% (16% in conventional parts). SEM was carried out on the skin layer near the fusion position of the interface, and a highly oriented “shish-kebab” structure was observed. Through DSC and 1D-WAXD pattern analysis, it was found that the overall crystallinity of OM-SRCs parts decreased by 8.53% and 5.32% compared with the conventional parts, respectively. The 2D-WAXD pattern analysis showed that the molecular orientation degree of the skin layer of OM-SRCs parts increased by 15.65%. By means of the response surface method, the molecular orientation obtained was the decisive factor affecting the performance of OM-SRCs parts. By means of the least squares' minimization procedure, a dimensionless equation between the micro-morphologies and mechanical properties was established, which makes the “adjustability” of the sample performance be preliminarily realized. Vis barrièreIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Single screw extruders with barrier screws, grooved feed zones and grooved melting zones were introduced to the European plastics industry in 1999. These extruders have an improved melting and conveying capacity among other advantages, such as a lower melt temperature, less wear, less torque and less energy consumption. The aim of this paper is to present a mathematical model for predicting the melting rate in this type of extrusion system. Based on the classical melting mechanism observed in conventional extruders, it was possible to study the effect of the geometry of the grooved barrel on the melting rate of a polymer. It was shown that the grooves on the barrel notably increase the melting rate, when compared to conventional single screw extruders. A good agreement between theory and experimental data was found.
