TressageIndex. décimale : 620.1 Mécanique de l'ingénieur (mécanique appliquée) et matériaux Résumé : Carbon fibre braiding is an efficient, cost-effective manufacturing process for hollow structures. During braiding, carbon fibres are deposited onto a mandrel while adapting its shape. State-of-the-art braiding technology is limited to convex mandrels but an adapted concept is being investigated for complex parts with concave cross-sections. In cooperation with Roding Automobile GmbH, the SGL Institute for Carbon Composites (LCC) of the Technical University of Munich demonstrated the braidability of a windscreen frame with concave sections.
Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The European Union requirements for average fleet CO2 emissions imply a reduction of around a third in under ten years, if one calculates with a value of 143g CO2/km in november 2011. Exceeding the target value of 95g CO2/km in 2020 will lead to large fines for the automotive industry. Thus, lightweight construction is evermore a vitally important concept, in addition to new and optimized drive systems. Reduced weight also contributes to improved driving dynamics.
Elle a comme caractéristiques la légereté, la rigidité et la résistance et comme particularité d'être une fibre longue (plusieurs dizaines de centimètres), par rapport aux fibres courtes (coton, chanvre) ou moyennes (laine).Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Recycled and flax-reinforced composites born out of joint development programmes involving Umeco have been used to manufacture parts for the Lola-Drayson B12/69EV, an all-electric prototype racing car demonstrating the potential of sustainable "green" technologies in the motorsport industry. PultrusionIndex. décimale : 620.1 Mécanique de l'ingénieur (mécanique appliquée) et matériaux Résumé : Advanced composite structures are used routinely in the modern aerospace industry. Most of them use the well-established prepreg lay-up and autoclave cure technology. Aerospace manufacturers are researching alternate, lower cost raw materials and mnaufacturing methods and increased part integration in always aware of the fact that innovative manufacturing methods and improved materials may require changes in both design and design methods. The cost of these changes should be factored into production costing. This paper describes some examples from recent programmes that illustrate this theme.
