The silane-terminated polyurethanes, which showed low viscosity due to the end-capping by HO-silane, could be chain-extended by butanediol to enhance the performance of SPU in non-solvent condition. The effects of chain extender, 1,4-butanediol, and NCO/OH molar ratio (R value) on the properties of silane-terminated polyurethane were investigated. The results show that the hydroxy silane coupling agent and the silane-terminated polyurethane that can be moisture-cured at ambient temperature were successfully synthesized. It is found that by introducing the 1,4-butanediol segment into SPU main chain, the viscosity of SPU was increased, but the tack free time of SPU was shortened, and the hardness and tensile strength of the moisture-cured SPU film were enhanced. As the R value increased, the tack free time of the silane-terminated polyurethane was prolonged, and the hardness and the tensile strength of the moisture-cured film were increased, but the elongation at break was decreased. When the amount of 1,4-butanediol was 10 wt% and the R value was 1.3, respectively, silane-terminated polyurethane with viscosity of 51,000 mPa·s (80% solid content) can be obtained. The tensile strength of the moisture-cured film was 1.1 MPa, and the elongation at break was 713.4%, which shows great potential for sealant and coating applications. Wet-white (tannage)Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In view of the environmental pollution caused by chrome tanning in current tanning processes, the development of chrome-free ecological leather manufacturing technology is an important direction for the development of the leather industry. However, the strong negative charge of chrome-free tanned leather leads to the reduction of binding sites of most anionic dyeing and finishing materials, resulting in colour fading and poor handle of the finished leather. Therefore, this paper mainly uses Nvinylimidazole, bromodecan and dimethylaminoethyl acrylate as raw materials to synthesise a ionic liquid-based amphiphilic polymer surfactant through free radical polymerisation and quaternisation and then, uses it in the fatliquoring process of a chrome-free non-metallic tanned green leather. The structure and morphology of the fatliquored wet-white leather were studied by SEM and the ultra depth of a field microscope, and the softness and physical and mechanical properties of the fatliquored leather were tested. The results showed that the collagen fibres were loosely distributed and the gap between the collagen fibres was larger after fatliquoring, and the softness and physical and mechanical properties of the fatliquored leather were improved. SolubilitéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A hyperbranched polyester with carboxyl end group (HPC) was synthesized by using trimellitic anhydride and neopentyl glycol as raw materials via A2 + B3 polycondensation. Then, waterborne hyperbranched polyester acrylate (WHPC) was synthesized by partially modifying the carboxylic groups of HPC with glycidyl methacrylate. In order to explore the influence of molecular weight, acrylate groups content, and ion groups content on performances, a series of WHPC films with different molecular weight, acrylate groups content, and ion groups content were prepared. The dynamic light scattering spectrometer analysis shows that the higher ionic groups content and the lower molecular weight cause the smaller particle size. The ionic group content has a positive effect on the solubility. The smaller molecular weight and particle size cause the lower viscosity. The Fourier-transform IR spectrophotometer reveals that the double bond final conversion increased with increasing acrylate groups content. The final conversion is between 69 and 86%. The curing speed is fast, and the curing time is about 70 s due to the numerous end groups owned by the hyperbranched structure. The dynamic mechanical thermal analysis coupled with end-use mechanical property tests illustrates that the crosslink density has a positive effect on the storage modulus and a negative effect on the flexibility. It is also found that glass transition temperature and pencil hardness are determined by the balance between crosslink segment and hyperbranched polyester segment. The thermogravimetric analysis proves that increased crosslink density and molecular weight promote the heat resistance of films. This work utilizes a novel hyperbranched structure that excels in viscosity, flexibility, and water solubility. Furthermore, the preparation process is convenient. Solutions de polymèreIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In the present investigation, a novel ladder polymer, poly(azomethine ester), was prepared via solution polycondensation polymerization between terephthalic acid and the novel monomer. Terephthalic acid was regenerated from PET waste bottles by saponification process, whereas p-phenylenediamine was obtained via Hoffmann rearrangement method. A novel monomer, namely N,N′-bis(2,5-dihydroxy benzylidene)-1,4-diaminobenzene was prepared from the reaction of 2,5-di-hydroxybenzadehyde with p-phenylenediamine in the ratio of 2:1, respectively. For the first time a solution polycondensation method has been employed for the synthesis of a ladder polymer which is otherwise prepared commonly via Diels-Alder cycloaddition reaction. The synthesized ladder polymer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR), carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (13C NMR), elemental analysis (CHN), X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results revealed that the ladder polymer possess highly regular ladder like framework, and that most of the ester groups have taken part in the side-by-side polymerization reaction. TX-C (Thioxanthrone–carbazole), TX-N-I (Thioxanthrone–N-methylindole) and TX-I (Thioxanthrone–indole) are characterized by 1HNMR (nuclear magnetic resonance), FTIR (fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry, fluorescence spectroscopy, elemental analysis and TG (thermal gravimetric analysis). TX-N-I and TX-I both possess an absorption characteristic similar to the parent thioxanthone with a maximum at 397nm (ε = 3240 L mol−1 cm−1) and 395 nm (ε = 1920 L mol−1 cm−1). The introduction of heterocyclic structures makes the maximum absorption peak red-shifted by 10 nm compared to TX. Its capabilities to act as initiator for the photopolymerization of PEGDA (polyethylene glycol diacrylate) and TMPTA (trimethylolpropane triacrylate) in the absence and presence of TEOA (triethanolamine) media are also examined. TX-N-I acts as an efficient initiator in the UV curable ink, whose light curing time is only 12 s. Note de contenu : - Materials
