Because these paints combine the special properties of mineral and of polymer-bound coatings, they protect facades reliably for a long time. Moreover, their water permeability, low water abrosption tendency & good aesthetic look due to silicone resin emulsion, offer compelling advantages for the design of facades in the private, public and industrial sectors or for the conservation and repair of historic buildings under preservation order. Note de contenu : Silicone resin emulsion paints / SREP technology / A functional network is created in the construction material.
- SREP PROPERTIES : Functional facade protection retains a building's value / Excellent protection against wetness / Dry facades prevent algae / Facades that can breathe / Long-lasting facade protection saves renovation costs.

Polyamide 6Tags : 'Polyamide 6' 'Phase vapeur' 'Fibre de carbone' 'Vapor grown carbon fiber' (VGCF) Index. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : We present the preparation of polyamide 6 (PA6)/Vapor Grown Carbon Fiber (VGCF) composites by melt compounding. Two commercialized forms of PA6 with different melt flow rates (herein named PA6-low and PA6-high.) and two VGCF, VGCF-H (aspect ratio: 40) and VGCF-S (aspect ratio: 100) were used in this study. Young's modulus and the yield strength increased when small amount of VGCF (e.g. 1 wt.%) was added to PA6, and the properties of PA6-low/VGCF composites increased with a decrease in the aspect ratio of VGCF. According to scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations, the dispersion state of VGCF in PA6-low/VGCF-S composites is superior to the PA6-low/VGCF-H composites. This may be due to the weakening of tensile properties caused by cracks between the adjoining crystals generated by the large amount of VGCF that act as nucleants. Hence, the aspect ratio of VGCF has an influence on the tensile properties of PA6/VGCF composites. The mechanical properties were shown to increase with VGCF-H length. Matrix viscosity and the screw rotation speed were also found to influence the mechanical properties of PA6/VGCF-H composites. Despite the fact that the testing of sorption/desorption behavior is time consuming, the application of a Dynamic Vapor Sorption analyzer enabled us to characterize the sorption/desorption behavior of materials in a relatively short time. Differences in sorption and desorption can be related to the accessibility and internal tortuosity of the materials. BET and GAB models were used to analyze variations in monolayer sorption capacity (internal sorption surface) of different forms of collagen (hide powder and leather). Variations in the energy constants related to primary and secondary sorption were also considered. Given that tests in desorption were performed, the BET and GAB models were also fitted to desorption and the differences observed in the parameters were analyzed. A model of sorption-desorption for porous materials was devised to account for the differences between sorption and desorption. The mechanical properties of composites can be improved by enhancing the load transfer at the reinforcement/matrix interface, e.g. by tailoring the interfacial shear strength. A novel, multiscale hybrid reinforcement has been developed to this end. The reinforcement consists of microsized commercial carbon-fibre yarns and fabrics coated with carbon nanostructures. This type of hybrid reinforcement is expected to have great potential for polymeric-matrix composite applications, because it combines microscaled and nanoscaled materials.
