Virtually every type of printing ink uses some system or technique to enhance its drying capability. Often this means applying some type of energy to the ink to promote the evaporation of solvent, induce a chemical reaction, or a combination of both. Ovens or kilns and sources of electromagnetic radiation can be used to impart energy to a wet ink or coating converting it to a solid dry film. Electromagnetic radiation includes Radio Frequency (RF), Microwave, Infrared (IR) and Ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Electron Beam (EB) can also be used and this is analogous to UV in terms of the type of materials and chemistry used in ink and coating formulations. The aim of most printers is to achieve the conversion from wet to dry ink as quickly as possible. The most efficient and effective use of energy transfer combined with a similarly reactive ink or coating is going to be most successful in achieving this aim. The electrode consisted of a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane based on neutral ion-pair carrier complex of cetyltrimethylammonium tetraphenylborate (CTA+TPB–). Adsorbance of CTAB on zeolite A was calculated from the potential and concentration response characteristics of the surfactant-selective electrode to get the surfactant adsorption isotherms. Adsorption isotherm of CTAB was S-shaped. The adsorbance was related to pH and electrolyte in the surfactant solutions. In service Navy aircraft which incorporate extensive composite structure, though, are often subject to impact related damage resulting in various defects in the components which need to be repaired. Bonded patch repair processes are a preferred field repair solution (versus bolted repairs) as the resulting repair joint can obtain the stiffness and strength of the original part skin if performed correctly. Obtaining quality bonded repair joints becomes increasingly difficult, though, as the complex curvature of the part increases, even when using wet layup, fabric based laminate patches. This preliminary study evaluates the benefits of utilizing a new aligned, discontinuous "formable" textile called DiscoTex® (in development by Pepin Associates) for producing laminate patches for bonded repairs on select double curvature composite shapes typical of those geometries found on fixed wing fighter aircraft. After launching 3D-printed one-part hot runner nozzles last fall, it is following this up with pressure pieces also manufactured by SLM. As with the novel nozzles, a hexagonal honeycomb structure is crucial to its performance. Note de contenu : - The pressure pieces reduce the heat loss of the manifold system
- Is the investment worthwhile ?
