Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Base sheets - Coating suspensions

The bulk of the investigation is concentrated upon the short-lived elastic part of a spherical indentation test, but determination of the failure stress of the coating is also discussed. The results indicate that microindentation can be a powerful tool for material characterization of these materials, but only if careful efforts are made to account for the influence from plasticity as well as from boundary effects. The second objective was oriented, but equally valuable product attributes like raw material supply security. We have seen that hydrogenated hydrocarbon tackifiers offer a good value package for most high-end packaging applications. They compare favorably to tall oil rosin esters in terms of adhesive performance and offer advantages such as odor, molten stability, raw material and tackifier supply security, global supply and environmentally friendly process features.
