Dai, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 350-357 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Molding - Glass mat thermoplastics (GMT) have the superior property/price ratio, they can be used in many industrial aspects. In this paper, through a 100 mm-deep mold, the glass mat distribution, fiber orientation and mechanical properties of the part were studied under different blank designs. In conclusion, (1) Blank design has effect on the mat distribution and fiber orientation, and finally on the mechanical properties of the part. To a part, there is an optimum blank design, which will not greatly decrease the mechanical properties of the sheets in the final part. (2) In compression molding, interlaminar slippage, blank ejection and resin solidification result in mat distribution and fiber orientation. Polysaccharides microbiensIndex. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Emergencies often result in uncontrollable bleeding, which is thought to be the leading cause of death at the scene of the injured. Among various hemostasis scenarios, collagen fiber (CF) is gradually replacing traditional hemostatic materials due to its superior properties and ease of sourcing from animals. Herein, we use CF and the natural herbaceous Bletilla striata as raw materials to prepare a collagen fiber-oxidized Bletilla striata composite hemostatic sponge (CFOB). During the cross-linking process, the triple helix structure of collagen stays intact, and its porous three-dimensional network structure brings excellent bulkiness and water absorption properties. Experiments show that the optimal amount of sponge CFOB-10, namely oxidized Bletilla striata polysaccharide 0.5 mg/mL and CF 5 mg/mL, only needed 25 ± 4.06 s for hemostasis time in the rat liver hemorrhage model. In addition, CFOB meets the safety performance requirements of cytotoxicity classification standard 0. Therefore, the optimal amount of CFOB is an excellent new hemostatic material with application potential. Note de contenu : - UNITES MONOMERE ET UNITES DE REPETITION

Titre : Breakage and buckling of fibrous reinforcements during fabrication of thermoplastic matrix composites Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : A. Cohen, Auteur ; M. E. Adams, Auteur ; G. A. Campbell, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 276-281 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : The paper addresses the buckling of fibrous reinforcements which occurs due to motion of the amorphous matrix material during solidification. The motion of the matrix material is caused by a variation in cooling rate in different portions of a composite while the sample is cooling. In the course of this study, samples were prepared with a fiber reinforcement sandwiched between premolded sheets of polycarbonate. Samples were either processed in a two-cavity, 'dogbone' shape mold or in a rectangular, single-cavity mold matched die compression mold. In order to visualize the motion of the molten matrix material, strands of polycarbonate blended with carbon black were mounted into the matrix. The buckling behavior demonstrated sensitivity, to the amount of reinforcement observed with single and multiple filaments of carbon and Kevlar and bundles of carbon fiber tows. This paper provides scaling considerations indicating the sensitivity of the observed effects to processing conditions and concludes with a discussion of the implications for load carrying capabilities of composites. Titre : Breaking out of the mould : Nanostructured polymer surfaces can be created without templates Type de document : texte imprimé Année de publication : 2009 Article en page(s) : p. 40-43 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Nanostructures
PolymèresTags : Polymères nanostructurés Polymérisation angle optique (OAP) Index. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Nanostructured surfaces have many specialised applications, such as biomedical or optical coatings, sensors and catalyst supports. A new way of producing these surfaces by oblique angle polymerisation (OAP) avoids the need for complex lithographic processes or templates. Materials can be produced with a very high surface area, which can be functionalised at much higher levels than a planar surface.
