In addition to kinetic experiments, conductivity measurements have also been done to obtain critical micelle concentration and other thermodynamic properties. The kinetic observations indicate fractional order and first order dependence, with respect to [Acetone] and [NBP] respectively. Cationic surfactant (CTAB) strongly catalysed the oxidation of acetone in aqueous acetic acid medium and typical kobs and [CTAB] profile was observed i.e. with the progressive increase in [CTAB], the reaction rate increased, at higher concentration constancy in kobs was observed, whereas anionic surfactant (SDS) was found to show no considerable effect on reaction rate. Mercuric acetate and phthalimide exhibited nil effect on the reaction rate. The presence of inorganic salts (KCl, KBr) exhibits positive effect in the reaction rate. The various activation parameters in presence of CTAB and SDS have been also evaluated. A suitable mechanism consistent with the experimental findings has been proposed. Hématite
SiliceLa silice est la forme naturelle du dioxyde de silicium (SiO2) qui entre dans la composition de nombreux minéraux.
La silice existe à l'état libre sous différentes formes cristallines ou amorphes et à l'état combiné dans les silicates, les groupes SiO2 étant alors liés à d'autres atomes (Al : Aluminium, Fe : Fer, Mg : Magnésium, Ca : Calcium, Na : Sodium, K : Potassium...).
Les silicates sont les constituants principaux du manteau et de l'écorce terrestre. La silice libre est également très abondante dans la nature, sous forme de quartz, de calcédoine et de terre de diatomée. La silice représente 60,6 % de la masse de la croûte terrestre continentale.
SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Most of the world iron ores are associated with siliceous impurities. Upgrading schemes depend mostly on the removal of these impurities by flotation and/or selective flocculation techniques, which mainly influenced by the adsorption of collectors on both valuable and gangue minerals. In this study, the adsorption of amphoteric collector (dodecyl-N-carboxyethyl-N-hydroxyethyl-imidazoline) on silica and hematite was studied. The collector adsorption exhibits the preferential adsorption on silica at acidic pH range. While in case of hematite, the adsorption was the same over entire the studied pH range. The temperature was kept constant at 298 K and contact time of 60 min was found, from kinetic study, to be adequate to achieve equilibrium. In addition, two simplified kinetic models including a pseudo first-order equation and pseudo second-order equation were used to determine kinetic parameters, rate constants, and equilibrium sorption capacities. It was shown that the pseudo first-order equation perfectly describes the adsorption of collector. Moreover, the analysis of experimental isotherm data using the Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich equations showed that the Freundlich model reasonably fits the experimental data in the studied concentration range. It is a very important to remove toxic Cr(VI) from industrial waste water. In human body Cr(VI) is reduced to Cr(III). Effective bio-molecule present in body contains a number of different functional groups. Kinetics of reduction of Cr(VI) by an important amino acid, glutamic acid in micellar media have been studied spectrophotometrically. Micellar media is a testing enviroment to establish the mechanistic paths of reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III). The catalyst and suitable surfactants enhance the reduction of Cr(VI). TartrazineIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : The coal ash (Φ) was used as an adsorbent for the removal of tartrazine from aqueous solution at room temperature. The adsorption capacity of tartrazine increased as the adsorption time was increased and then remains constant after 30 min adsorption duration. It was found that the U removed more than 40% of tartrazine from the aqueous solution within 1 h contact time. The equilibrium adsorption was also analyzed by Langmuir isotherm and it was found that the data followed the Langmuir isotherm models. The reactions have been carried out at 25 °C. Substitution follows first order path with respect to chloride ion concentration. A millimolar solution of the complexes in ethanolic solution of 1.0 × 10–2M SDS shows an increase in conductance with time due to solvation of the molecule. Sn(CH3)2Cl2× 2 DMSO shows high conductance as compared to Sn(C6H5)2Cl2× 2 DMSO. In the presence of the nucleophilic reagents, C6H5COCl and CH3COCl there is a greater enhancement in conductance due to substitution of DMSO by chloride ion. The data of rate constant for solvation (KS) and for nucleophilic substitution (K1and K2) have been calculated. It was found that the solvation is a slower process compared to the substitution by chloride ions i. e., K1, K2> Ks. A possible mechanism has been suggested.
