Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Linear plasma - A new type of surface technology offers the advantages of corona treatment for materials of any thickness for the first time. The atmospheric pressure plasma process modifies the surface of plastic solid and multi-wall sheets, polymer foams and composite materials in the sub-nanometre range to provide reliable adhesion of printing inks, adhesives, paints/lacquers and other coatings. Rupture (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Measurement Technology - Plastics parts design is usually stress-based. Yet Menges and his colleagues long ago discovered that it is more accurate to use strain as a criterion. However, it is quite complicated to determine so-called “critical strain” as a limit value. Recent studies done at the IKT in Stuttgart, Germany, aim at making this determination more accurate and simpler. Note de contenu : - A plastics compatible approach

Matières plastiquesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Virtually any material can be cut with a water jet. In the case of plastics, particularly, cold cutting methods have advantages over thermal cutting. Based on many years’ experience with plastics cutting technology and in cooperation with leading companies in the plastics sector, machines for special cutting tasks have been developed. ViscositéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In the past, dielectric analysis (DEA) has been used as an important measurement component in the overall analysis of polymer resin systems. Much of this work has been done at the research level in determining viscosity behavior, rate of cure, and cure endpoint. In the areas where DEA has been used in the production environment, it has been in the low volume applications of aerospace composites. Within the last several years there has been an expansion of the applications where dielectric cure analysis has been used. This growth in the applications of dielectric cure analysis has expanded beyond the traditional areas of monitoring the cure of composites to include such applications as factory floor control of molding operations, monitoring resin synthesis, reduction and/or elimination of physical testing, diffusion monitoring, and SQC analysis. These applications and other techniques will be presented. Note de contenu : - Traditional cure comparison
