The effects of stirring speed, temperature, type and amount of emulsifier, core/shell mass ratio, and initial pH on the microcapsule structure and properties were studied, and the optimal preparation process of the two-component microcapsules was obtained. On this basis, the shell stability of the microcapsules was enhanced by adding graphene oxide (GO), and the added content of GO was optimized by means of microscopic observation. The results show that the optimal preparation process of the two-component microcapsules is as follows: The stirring speed is 500 r/min, the temperature is 55°C, the amount of polyvinyl alcohol is 5 g, core/shell mass ratio is 1.25:1, the initial pH is 3, the added amount of GO is 0.3 wt%, and the encapsulation rate of the prepared microcapsules was as high as 83.44%. Subsequently, different contents of graphene-based two-component microcapsules were embedded into the epoxy coating, and the best ones were optimized by self-healing performance test (scratch test) and anticorrosion performance test (salt spray test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy). The experimental results show that the impedance modulus of the damaged graphene-based two-component self-healing coating after repair can reach 1.29 × 109 Ω cm2, and the repair process can last for 24 h.
Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Aramids are important high-performance fibers, but their usefulness is limited by the comparatively fast UV degradation of the fiber polymers. In addition, aramids are difficult to dye, which increases the cost and complexity of the dyeing procedures and limits the available colors and shades. In the study presented here, it was shown that the finishing of aramids with polyvinylamine improves their dyeability with acidic and reactive dyes. In addition, the polyamine coating was also useful for improving the wash-fastness of UV absorbers coated onto the textiles. Aramids that were finished with UV absorbers showed improved mechanical properties after irradiation with a UV broadband lamp for several hours compared to unmodified samples. Accordingly, this approach represents an interesting starting point for further optimization studies towards aramid textiles with improved UV stability. Rouge carthamineIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : While the contribution of ultraviolet absorbers to synthetic dyes has been investigated by several workers, there have been few studies pertaining to the use of functional ultraviolet absorbers as a means of improving the light fastness of natural dyes. In this paper, numerous potential ultraviolet absorbers were prepared to prolong the life of natural dye carthamin. The effects of these compounds in reducing photofading were examined on a polymer substrate. The use of commercial ultraviolet absorbers was not necessarily useful in improving the light fastness of the colour. However, benzophenone-type ultraviolet absorbers containing a built-in ultraviolet absorber moiety markedly retarded the photofading rate. It is proposed that 2,2′,4,4′-tetrahydroxy-5-methylbenzotriazolylbenzophenone and its derivatives may be used as effective stabilisers in the fading of natural dyes. Stabilité thermiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : To improve the weather ability and thermal stability of styrene-acrylic polymer emulsion coatings, a series of novel styrene-acrylic polymer emulsion modified with 2-[2-hydroxy-5-[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]phenyl]-2H-benzotriazole (HMEB), hexafluorobutyl methacrylate (HFMA), and vinyl-trimethoxysilane (VTMS) were prepared through semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization. The emulsions and their coatings were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy (UV-Vis), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, dynamic laser scattering, transmission electron microscopy, zeta potential, thermogravimetric analysis, and artificially accelerated aging test. According to the results, the new polymer emulsion had superior UV absorption from 308 to 364 nm. Moreover, the coating performed the best anti-aging stability when the content of HMEB, HFMA, and VTMS reached 4%, 2%, and 3%, respectively. After the 1000 h aging test, the color difference (ΔE) and rate of loss of gloss (ΔG) were only 6.86% and 51.10%, while the unmodified coatings were 16.05% and 72.22%, respectively. Furthermore, the thermal stability and water resistance of the coating were improved by fluorine and silicon monomers. The initial decomposition temperature was increased from 327 to 339°C. Moreover, the UV stabilization mechanism is preliminarily discussed. Titre : A smart anticorrosion coating based on hollow silica nanocapsules with inorganic salt in shells Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Dong Zhao, Auteur ; Dongguang Liu, Auteur ; Zhijia Hu, Auteur Année de publication : 2017 Article en page(s) : p. 85-94 Note générale : Bibliogr.

Sol-gel, ProcédéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This work presents the synthesis of corrosion inhibitor [1H-benzotriazole (BTA)]-loaded hollow silica nanocapsules with magnesium hydroxide precipitate in the shells (HSNs-M/BTA) through inverse microemulsion (W/O) polymerization. TEM and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) measurements indicate that the silica nanocapsules possess voids in the inner part and mesoporous on the surface. The actual loading capacity of BTA is 287.17 mg (BTA)/1 g (HSNs-M/BTA). The results of UV absorption spectra show that the release of BTA can be triggered by the changing of pH in the corrosion solution. The anticorrosive SiOx/ZrOx coatings embedded with hydrophobically modified HSNs-M have a better waterproof performance since the water contact angle can reach 140°. In comparison to the passive SiOx/ZrOx coatings with or without BTA, the enhanced corrosion protection performance of this developed anticorrosive system was observed by both electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and Tafel analysis. The fabrication of nanocapsules with corrosion inhibitors is promising as an intelligent element in protective coatings in the future.
