On distingue trois types.

Pigments végétauxIndex. décimale : 688.8 Technologie des emballages Résumé : This study developed an active and intelligent collagen-based packaging film with high strength for visually monitoring the freshness of fish. The results of scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy showed that the film based on cross-linked collagen/delphinidin catalyzed by laccase exhibited a denser layer structure and a rougher surface. The dry and wet tensile strengths of the laccase-catalyzed collagen/delphinidin film (Col/Dp-LA film) increased by 41.74 MPa and 13.13 MPa in comparison with that of the pure collagen film, respectively. Moreover, the Col/Dp-LA film presented good antioxidant and barrier properties demonstrated by the results of free radical scavenging rate, light transmission rate, and water vapor permeability. The intelligent collagen-based film was obtained by incorporating Vaccinium oxycoccus pigment into the Col/Dp-LA film, which could change color under different pH values. When applied to the preservation of fish fillets, the film could release Dp to minimize oxidative rancidity and prolong the shelf life of the fish for 2 days. Meanwhile, the film showed visual color changes from purplish-red to greyish-blue after the fish spoilage. These results indicated that the collagen film treated with delphinidin, laccase, and Vaccinium oxycoccus pigment has potential application value in the field of active and intelligent food packaging. Titre : Highly improved UV-shielding and mechanical properties of UV-curable epoxy acrylate nanocomposites by incorporating functionalized aramid nanofibers Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ying Wang, Auteur ; Yuexin Luo, Auteur ; Yuankai Pan, Auteur ; Changmei Sun, Auteur ; Ying Zhang, Auteur ; Chunnuan Ji, Auteur ; Rongjun Qu, Auteur Année de publication : 2024 Article en page(s) : p. 307-317 Note générale : Bibliogr.

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Introducing nanofillers into UV-curable coatings can not only effectively improve the performance of the coating but also impart new functions to the film. Herein, methacrylate-functionalized aramid nanofibers (mANFs) were constructed by a bottom-up approach, and their influence on the performance of UV-curable epoxy acrylate (EA) coatings was investigated. The microstructure of the EA/mANF nanocomposite was studied using X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), which confirmed the homogeneous distribution of mANFs in the matrix. The effect of mANFs on the curing kinetics was investigated. The result showed that the photopolymerization rate and final C = C bond conversion would not be adversely affected until more than 0.1 wt% mANFs were added. The UV–Vis analyses showed that the EA/mANF films maintained high transmittance in the visible light region and exhibited improved UV-shielding performance. The mechanical characteristics of EA/mANF films were significantly improved by mANFs because of strong interactions such as π–π interactions, hydrogen bonds, and chemical bonds between the matrix and mANFs. For the nanocomposite containing 0.025 wt% mANFs, tensile strength and strain at break increased by 53% and 446%, respectively, compared to neat EA. Thus, the introduction of mANFs considerably improved the mechanical performance of UV-curable EA films and expanded their application in the field of UV shielding. Multifunctional additives from ANGUS can be used to create low- and zero-VOC waterborne formulations, as well as low emissive coatings that qualify for green label certification programs. Amino alcohols are also highly effective formaldehyde scavengers that can be used to create functional coatings that improve indoor air quality. The level of hazardous air pollutants can be five times higher in indoor air than outdoor air and chronic exposure to these invisible indoor toxins, such as formaldehyde, can create long-term health problems. An attractive solution to reducing indoor formaldehyde levels is through a chemical remediation or scavenging system, and one of the emerging trends for the effective removal of indoor air contaminants is the use of functional coatings. We demonstrate how the unique functionality of amino alcohols can help improve indoor air quality by providing high-efficiency formaldehyde scavenging performance when used in waterborne architectural paints. Amino alcohol additives are highly effective at low dosages and do not require major reformulation work, enabling the creation of functional coatings to improve indoor air quality.
