Tannage Résumé : Recently, the application of waterborne melamine resin (WMR) is greatly increasing in the leather industry because of its convenient operation, but it often suffers from poor storage stability. Here, two waterborne melamine resin retanning agents (WMRs) with high storage stability were prepared using melamine, glutaraldehyde and collagen hydrolysates (CHs) as raw materials at different mole ratios. FTIR, 13C-NMR and XPS were used to characterize the chemical structure of synthesized resins, and their retanning behaviors for wet blue and wet white leather were fully investigated. The particle sizes of WMR1 and WMR2 were 28.73 nm and 8.78 nm, and their zeta potentials were 4.0 and 4.5, respectively. The introduction of CHs provided not only good water solubility but also amphoteric properties to synthesized resins, thereby resulting in high absorption of retanning and fatliquoring agents. Moreover, the retanning application investigation of WMRs manifested good storage stability and excellent overall performance, which are comparable with commercial retanning agents. This work showed that glutaraldehyde and CH could be used as starting materials in the synthesis of environmentally friendly WMR. Firstly, the 2nd generation of HPAE (HPAE-2) was modified with different amounts of maleic anhydride, and then reacted successively with Reactive Light Yellow K-4G (C.I.13245,CAS:12226-48-1) to obtain a new kind of polymeric dye, identified as HPD-1, HPD-2 and HPD-3, respectivety. The structure of HPD-2 was measured by FTIR, which showed that the dye molecule was grafted successfully on HPAE-2. The grafting rates of K-4G were all above 87%. The stabilities of HPD against AlCI3 were investigated by UV-vis spectrum, and it was shown that the polymeric dye was precipitated against At(III) ions fixation was likely to be improved if Al3+ was used at the end of dyeing. The polymeric dyes were used in the colouration of wet-blue leather, and their exhaustion rates were more than 99%. Leather samples dyed with HPD had good colour saturation and levelness proved by colour differences (DE). Dry and wet rubbing fastness of the leather samples were grades 4-5, and good washing fastness resulted. Wet-blue (tannage)Peau tannée au chrome (le chrome donne une couleur bleue)Index. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : It is acknowledged that within the chemical processing of hides into chrome-tanned leather that the liming, acid pickle and the tanning processes are the major contributors of pollutants. This is in terms of biological load, suspended solids, sulfide, nitrogen, chromium, salinity and the resultant sludges for disposal.
This loading includes unused chemicals that are discharged from these processes due to the poor process efficiencies. Many attempts have been made to lessen this waste at source, but technologies in common use have basically remained unchanged for decades.
Solutions to these problems are for reaching, and the details set down in this paper describe a technology that addresses and resolves these matters. This information was compiled through independent on-site studies within three major tanneries, where approximately 60 000 wet-salted US, European and. Australien hides per week have been processed since 2013. Accordingly, this paper describes in detail this radical new approach to leather manufacture.
The initial investigations and developments of this technology by BIOSK involved the building of a full scale wet-blue manufacturing plant, and five years of developments before introduction to industry. The practicality and value of this technology has since been verified by continuous full scale manufacture by tanners that commenced in 2011.
The technology involves the complete retention and recycling of used floats from liming, pickle and tanning in self-contained loops, and eliminates associated washing cycles. This is the base for the complete uptake of processing chemicals, a significant reduction in water use, and zero effluent discharged from these ordinal rnanufacturing stages.Note de contenu : - METHODOLOGY : The technology for wet-blue manufacture from wet-salted hides

In the presence of such monomers, the concurrent application of an olefinically unsaturated dyestuff and a colourless vinylic monomer gives coloured leathers having a partially fatliquored handle.
