SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Esters of ethoxylated polyglycerins are a new, interesting class of non ionic thickeners for use in modern body care and hair care products containing surfactants. The viscosifying effect of polymers of different structures in ether sulfate/betaine mixtures is investigated. A marked structure-effect relationship is evident. The degree of esterification is recognized as an important parameter, and the best thickening effect is achieved if the polymer has a maximum number of ester units. The efficiency similarly depends on the degree of ethoxylation. Taking the diglycerin derivatives as an example maximum effect is achieved at about 150 mol FO. Systematic studies identify PEG-150 polyglycery1-2 tristearate as the target structure with optimum thickening properties.
The higher efficiency of PEG-150 polyglyceryl-2 tristearate compared to the commercial thickeners PEG-150 distearate and PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate is shown in surfactant systems with additives that have a diluting effect. Addition of salt and/or laureth-3 leads to an additional synergistic viscosity effect.
As an additional alternative to the waxlike polymer a liquid, cold-processable mixture of PEG-150 polyglyceryl-2 tristearate in PEG-6 caprylic/capric glycerides is presented.Note de contenu : - Viscosity as a function of polymer structure

shampooingsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Dandruff is a global phenomenon and the need for cosmetic products to relieve symptoms like flaking, itching and redness remains high [1]. Anti-dandruff consumer products in the cosmetics market typically rely on the use of strong anti-fungal ingredients. Three conventional actives are commonly used from a global perspective : zinc pyrithione, climbazole and piroctone-olamine.
Except for a limited selection of multifunctionals, some blends or natural extracts, there has been no major new active launched to market for decades. In this article we present an entirely new solution : propanediol caprylate (Crinipan® PMC green), a novel molecule for cosmetic applications, developed to serve multiple needs: comparable efficacy to conventional anti-dandruff actives, natural origin, green chemistry, sustainability, new mode of action and simple formulating.

MalasseziaIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Ahealthy scalp also means healthy hair and is free from troubling scalp conditions, like itchiness, redness, oiliness, flakiness, burning or painful sensation, hair damage and hair thinning. Good scalp health is closely associated with sebum normalization, microbiota balance and low inflammation. The latest proprietary ingredient Epi-Onâ„¢ developed by Corum aims to promote healthier scalp condition through its multifaceted properties to reduce sebum secretion, inhibit scalp yeast Malassezia, mitigate inflammation and downregulate 5-alpha reductase activity. 2% Azelamidopropyl Dimethyl Amine in serum delivered outstanding performance in clinical trial to significantly reduce sebum, redness, and dandruff after 14 days and 28 days. Advance research further indicates Azelamidopropyl Dimethyl Amine not only acts as an ideal solution for hair care formulation to help maintain scalp health and tackle scalp problems but also act as a cosmetic active to enhance skin recovery through epigenetic pathway. Shampooings secsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Demand for anti-dandruff hair care is increasing, with research showing dandruff and scalp related issues are particularly common when heat and moist, humid conditions are at play. Safe active ingredient Piroctone Olamine, an established cosmetics preservative, is proven also to be effective at controlling microorganisms responsible for flaking and irritation, reducing dandruff and scalp itch. Furthermore it offers efficient formulating advantages that support application of anti-dandruff action to modern formats such as clear liquid formulas, dry shampoos and leave-on hair repair tonics. We demonstrate its performance as a viable solution for formulators looking to meet hair care demands, with even broader scope of application from anti-acne skin care to deodorants.
