Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A free hydroxyl-containing benzoxazine monomer was synthesised using bio-based card phenol, paraformaldehyde and ethanolamine by a Mannich condensation reaction. The hydroxyl-containing benzoxazine monomer synthesised was characterised by FT-IR spectroscopy. Curing of the benzoxazine was monitored by using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The free hydroxyl group in the benzoxazine monomer helps to enhance the adhesion of polybenzoxazine coating with the metal substrate. The synthesised benzoxazine was copolymerised with an epoxy resin and a saturated polyester resin for potential coating applications and their curing was monitored using DSC and FT-IR spectroscopy. The benzoxazine-epoxy copolymerised system demonstrated enhanced mechanical, chemical and thermal properties compared to the benzoxazine-saturated polyester system as well as compared with neat polybenzoxazine. The development of nano-materials, a category ofnano-technology, has potential for applications in a number of local industries. After few years of research work, an innovative new clear IPN (Interpenetrating Polymer Network) based on CNSL-S and silicone resin binder is developed and by using ceramic pigments as nano-particles for high temperature surroundings. Ground breaking nano technology ensures that the new product is substantially more impact resistance and good glossy with very good scratch resistance as conventional heat resistant coatings. The developed coatings provided long term benefits to the ferrous metal in the corrosive as well as high temperature environments. The XRD and TGA/DTA analysis were used to find out the thermal behaviour of the coatings. The EIS studies were carried out to ensure that the coating life lasted for a longer time. Les exemples de fils texturés par fausse torsion sont : Superloft®, Flufflon® et Hélanca®.Index. décimale : 677 Textiles Résumé : False twist draw-textured yarns were prepared using single heater and double heater of the texturing machine. Fabrics were prepared using these yarns as weft and fabrics were tested for handle, crease recovery, abrasion and air permeability. The results revealed that double heater draw-textured yarn-fabrics manufactured using primary as well as secondary heater can pro-duce fabrics with better drapability, crease recovery and air permeability as compared to stretched yarn fabrics.
