PhotoprotectionIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Blue light-induced skin damage originates from two sources: natural blue light, which is part of sunlight, and artificial blue light, which cornes from electronic devices. Topical applications that protect from blue light have reached the cosmetic market. But efficient blue light absorbers are rare.
Nature's answer to blue light are carotenoids, which shield blue light and protect against blue-light induced oxidative stress in plants. Lipoid Kosmetik's active ingredient Carotolino is designed to supply carotenoids to the skin, where they can naturally act as a defensive shield against blue light and reduce oxidative stress. Besides its photo¬protective activity, topically applied carotenoids improve skin colour. Indeed, our in vivo study demonstrates that Carotolino creates a subtle color optimization, shifting pale and dull skin tones to a more lively and healthy appearance.
Carotolino incorporates the best of carrots including stabilised carotenoids. This makes our botanical active a trendy ingredient that synergistically reduces blue light¬induced skin damage while at the same time adding a vivid look.Note de contenu : - Carotenoids - blue light absorbers invented by nature

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The author explores how a small quaternary treatment allows hectorite to bring multiple benefits to the oil phase of a formulation while remaining up to 99% naturally-derived.
Hectorite clay, named after the originating area in a location near Hector, California, is an exceptionally pure, non-toxic, nonbioaccumulating, three-layer clay of the smectite family. It is sourced from the world’s purest hectorite mine, near Newberry Springs, California. Â
The hectorite clay was created from volcanic ash by hydrothermal means. The salt beds found in this area in combination with hot springs yielded a unique clay mineral structure that is different to other smectite clays.
The extremely efficient swelling capability and network stability of hectorite is due to the uniform charge density distribution, as the clay was built from a quick volcanic eruption. Bentonite, on the other hand, is built from a longer-lasting weathering process with less uniform charge density distribution.Â
The hectorite clay ore is selectively mined using open-pit mining operations, and the wet processing removes impurities to create different grades of hectorite clay. The platelets are remarkably uniform with respect to elemental composition, charge density distribution and charge location.Â
The hydrothermal conditions created platelets with a thin shape, which results in a favourable edge-to-face surface ratio. Pure hectorite clay is a 100% natural ingredient according to ISO 16128 and complies with the COSMOS standard. Â
A small quaternary treatment allows hectorite to bring multiple benefits to the oil phase of a formulation while remaining up to 99% naturally derived according to the ISO 16128 standard.Note de contenu : - From clean beauty to clean skin

Tests d'efficacitéIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Catering to the skin of Generation Z is complex, but possible when done right. CutiBiome CLR (MPM Complex) underwent multiple efficacy studies and was clearly shown to have potent effects on the most important dermatological features of sebum-related skin problems. It importantly reduces the likelihood of the formation of acne lesions and it was shown to have potent effects on the reduction of the oiliness of both skin in the face and the scalp. These effects were not just determined scientifically, they were also perceived by the volunteers in the studies. Similarly, MPM Complex was able to reduce the number of acne lesions and dandruff, both perceivably and proven by an expert grader.
MPM Complex is a Cosmos approved active ingredient, meaning it is natural. Added to that, it is safe and leaves skin and scalp with a pleasant and comfortable feel. It solves problems which are common to Generation Z consumers. 80% of the volunteers in the dandruff study reported that they were inclined to buy the product with MPM Complex which they had been using in the past 4 weeks. This percentage was significantly lower for those volunteers who had been using the same formulation, but containing a benchmark ingredient and not MPM Complex. 80% reported a reduction of itching, a type of skin discomfort common to the skin and scalp of the generation Z consumer.
MPM Complex caters to the skin of Gen Z’ers and shows perceivable and satisfactory results. It further ‘ticks all boxes’ which are important to them. It is our belief that MPM Complex leads to a satisfied Generation Z consumer, who will be loyal to the product and brand it is contained in.Note de contenu : - Anticipating changes in skin is a complex undertaking

Vitamine DIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Due to modern lifestyles and the lack of sun exposure, like recently experienced in the pandemic, there is a deficiency of vitamin D. The new active Lithops Pseudotruncatella Callus Lysate stimulates the epidermal cells to stimulate the synthesis of vitamin D and bring beneficial molecules to the skin. Made from Lithops pseudotruncatella stem cells, the active ingredient optimizes the skin microenvironment (strong spatial organization of cell membranes, maximization of light use, deep skin hydration boost and vitamin D activation) to strengthen, volumize, revitalize faded skin and get glowing D-Skin. A new cosmetic concept explained in the present article. Various in vitro and in vivo assays have been carried out to demonstrate the activity and efficacy of the active and the basis of this new concept supported by cosmetic science. A new and healthy way to deal with skin. Note de contenu : - An ignored pandemic : vitamin D deficiency
