Fluoroethylene vinyl ether or FEVE resins, a family of fluorinated resins, have a unique alternating copolymer structure allowing them to be dissolved in solvent, as well as emulsified in water for formulating liquid coatings. As environmental initiatives are becoming less compulsory and industry is taking proactive measures to protect the environment, waterborne and high solids paint is ever increasing in demand.
Studies encompass both 1K and 2K formulations and focus on dispersant type, coalescing agents and methods of altering gloss. Results of the many tests that measure critical properties of high performance coatings will be presented. Testing includes water resistance,
chemical resistance, vapeur permeability, solar reflectance properties and mould resistance along with corrosion resistance and accelerated weathering. Formulations based on blends of FEVE resins with other polyols, like acrylic polyols and polyester polyols will also be explored.Note de contenu : - FEVE resin technology

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : It is sometimes thought that 'green' products are inferior to petrochemical-based materials. It is demonstrated that sustainability and performance can go together. Sustainable solutions can match and in many cases exceed the performance of conventional solutions. These include polyols for PUR systems and various additives, mainly for waterborne coatings. Some challenges facing future development greener coatings technologies are summarised. Revêtements en phase aqueuse -- Additifs:Peinture en phase aqueuse -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A new family of high-performance pigment dispersant additives has been developed to improve pigment wetting and dispersion in waterborne coatings. These unique additives are highly effective for a wide range of organic and inorganic pigments in both resin-free and resinous pigment grinds, where they provide increased pigment loading, improved color development, and enhanced stability. Additional advantages of these new additives versus traditional and other high-performance dispersants include low foam; effective pigment stabilization; outstanding pigment wetting; high color development; and environmental benefits as they are HAPs- and alkylphenol ethoxylate (APE)-free. These new additives are applicable to automative, architectural, industrial, and wood coatings. Revêtements décoratifs:Peinture décorativeIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : New generation of grinding media for both solventborne and waterborne decorative paints.
Paint manufacturers are increasingly using colour pastes
in as many coating formulations as possible. Pastes can be blended with one another or added to binders and other components and thus incorporated into a paint formulation in a relatively short time. The mixing of small batches, elimination of expensive cleaning operations and the reduction of the raw material inventories, machiner) occupancy and space requirements, leads to lower manufacturing costs.
CONCLUSION : Allnex has extended its range of grinding media with the introduction of the truc universal grinding medium Additol XW 6565 for both solventborne and waterborne decorative paints. Additol XW 6565 joins the other grinding media available for water-based automotive and protective coatings and solvent-based industrial systems.
Additol XW 6565 clearly brings advantages for the manufacture of pigment pastes and paints in the decorative market.
- Effective in waterborne and solventborne systems
- Cost-efficient manufacturing due to cycle time and inventory reduction and equipment flexibility
- High pigment colour efficiency
- Higher pigment loading at moderate viscosities for easy incorporation
- Improved anti-floating effect, colour and paste stability, and compatibility with solventborne resins e Emulsifier-free
- Improved water and weather resistance in exterior paints
- Ultra-low VOCs
- Good performance in POS tinting machines.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Up5aZBt0p6QexM-9ohqr0gMloQzGJSz1/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=19317
