Note de contenu : - AVANTAGES COMMUNS AUX TPE

This is one of the initial technologies, which is now coming in to focus due to advantages it is offering. Hybrid is a mixture of the different type of the polymers, which on in-situ mixing gives polymer with altogether different properties of the final polymer as compared to parent polymers. Acrylic- alkyd hybrid which, have better drying properties was described. In the hybrid polymers the associative interaction like hydrogen bonding have the incremental effect in improving the property. Interpenetrating polymer network is also one type of hybrid polymer where there is no chemical interaction between the polymers. Different type of the IPN's and resin modification was discussed. A new promising non-isocynate hybrid coating which give excellent hydrolytic stability was investigated. Inorganic modification of epoxy, polyester, oil, improves thermal, mechanical and corrosion resistance properties were discussed. Finally use of the hybrid polymer for powder coating was explored. Tension superficielleIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this study, the authors report on the potential application of hyperbranched polymers as surface tension modifiers in linear polymers or compatibilisers in polymer blends. The influence of hyperbranched polyesters (HBP) with different functional end groups on the surface tension of mixtures with an oligo(ester diol) was investigated. The surface tension of the pure components and of the mixtures was studied within a temperature range of 20°C up to 100°C. The results indicate that the surface tension of the pure HBPs strongly depends on the functionality of the end-groups. The modification of the hydroxyl end groups by short alkyl chains (methyl, tert-butyl) reduced the surface tension, depending on the degree of functionalisation. The surface tension of mixtures could be considerably decreased using 1% HBP that was partially substituted with short alkyl chains. In this case, the modified HBPs acted as surface active agents. On the molecular level, the enrichment of the modified HBP in the surface region was proven by XPS (x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) measurements.
