PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Due to their unique characteristics, polyurethane adhesives are widely used within the industry as they can be formulated to give a wide range of physical properties, such as viscosity and adhesion to many different substrates, and application properties, such as pot life (time to apply after mixing a 2-part adhesive). Polyurethane systems used for adhesives can be separated into two main classifications, 1K (1-part) and 2K (2-part) systems, which share some similarities, but each technology has its distinct advantages and disadvantages. Moreover, the Next-gen 1KPUD demonstrated faster dry times than the 2KWB coatings, which will increase productivity during the coating application. A coating formulated with the Next-gen 1KPUD passed all the AAMA 615-13 physical performance requirements. Further, its film hardness matched that of a crosslinked 2KWB coating. Finally, accelerated weathering tests under QUV-A and Xenon arc exposure showed that a coating formulated with Next-gen 1KPUD will perform commercially available 1K PUDs and a 2KWB coating that were evaluated.
