Quebracho est l'un des noms communs, en espagnol, d'au moins trois espèces similaires d'arbres originaires du Gran Chaco, en Amérique latine : Schinopsis lorentzii (quebracho colorado santiagueño), de la famille des Anacardiaceae ; Schinopsis balansae (quebracho colorado chaqueño), de la même famille ;

Tannage Résumé : The pyrolysis behaviors of leathers tanned with hydrolyzable tannins (Tara and Chestnut extracts), and condensed tannins (Quebracho and Mimosa extract) were studied by Thermogravimetric (TG) analysis in the present work. The TG/derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) results showed that the thermal stability of Tara- and Chestnut-tanned samples is poorer than that of Quebracho- and
Mimosa-tanned ones. In order to study pyrolysis kinetics, TG experiments at different heating rates were carried out. Two methods of Flynn-Wall-Ozawa (FWO) and Friedman (FR) were employed to calculate the pyrolysis activation energy (Eα) of the samples. It was found that the average Eα of the vegetable-tanned samples is located at the range of 191.7-206.1 kJ/mol. The thermodynamic parameters (pre-exponential factor, Gibbs free energy, enthalpy, and entropy) of the samples were subsequently calculated based on the average Eα by the FR method. The Gibbs free energies of the Chestnut-, Tara-, Quebracho-, and Mimosa-tanned leathers were 176.9 kJ/mol, 179.8
kJ/mol, 179.3 kJ/mol, and 178.2 kJ/mol, respectively. The difference between the average enthalpies and the Eα is less than 5 kJ/mol, which indicated that the pyrolysis process is conductive to the product formation. The mean entropy (ΔS) of the four vegetable-tanned samples is all positive, which suggested that the pyrolysis of the samples could easily take place. This work might provide theoretical guidance for the optimization of vegetable-tanned leather waste pyrolysis.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Sample preparation and characterization - Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) - Pyrolysis kinetic analysis - Thermodynamic parameters

Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Protecting the phase change material (PCM) from thermal aging is done by using polyethylene (high-density/HDPE) as supporting matrix. The HDPE content is set at 5 wt%, 10 wt% and 15 wt%. The composite PCM (cPCM) is treated through repeating melting/solidification process up to 10,000 cycles which is conducted between temperature 55℃-65℃. The thermal capacity of the paraffin wax (PW) is reduced notably, where enthalpy of fusion is decreased from 145.92 J/g to 138.46 J/g. The cPCM with 10 wt% and 15 wt% HDPE maintain a notable performance with only reduces slightly from 130.7 J/g to 129.7 J/g and 127.7 J/g to 127.2 J/g, respectively. The supercooling degree of PW increases around 1.64℃, which accelerates the cooling rate to 4.81℃/min. The HDPE in the cPCM maintain the physical behavior of PW, which minimizes the shrinkage effect during solidification. The highest heating rate is found at 2.29℃/min with minor decrement (0.06℃/min) for cPCM 15 wt% HDPE after treatment. The finding from this work can be used for fundamental basis to develop a high cycle PCM which able to operate at extended cycle with minor supercooling degree that is suitable for temperature sensitive operation. Not only the rheological properties concerning thixotropy and pseudoplasticity can be positively influenced but also the adhesion properties, pigment dispersibility or the corrosion and water resistance of a coating can be improved by using hydrophobic fumed silica. Note de contenu : - Most of the modified pyrogenic silicon dioxides are hydrophobic

Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In this study thermoplastic polyurethane (TPUs) nanocomposites incorporating carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) were prepared via melt blending and compression molding and CNT dispersion was optimized by using non-covalent surface modification (surfactant). Filler dispersion was further improved by combining two fillers with different geometric shape and aspect ratio in hybrid filler nanocomposites. Synergistic effects were observed in the TPU-GNP-CNT hybrid composites, especially when combining GNP and CNT at a ratio of 6 : 4, showing higher tensile modulus and strength with respect to the systems incorporating individual CNTs and GNPs at the same overall filler concentration. This improvement was attributed to the interaction between CNTs and GNPs limiting GNP aggregation and bridging adjacent graphene platelets thus forming a more efficient network. Hybrid systems also exhibited improved creep resistance and recovery ability. Morphological analysis carried out by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) indicated that the hybrid nanocomposite presented slightly smaller and more homogeneous filler aggregates. The well-dispersed nanofillers also favored higher phase separation in TPU, as indicated by atomic force microscopy (AFM), resulting in a better microstructure able to enhance the load transfer and maximize the mechanical and viscoelastic properties.
